I know you won't like this, because you believe in a complete listening experience, but I had to skip Lauper. I really, really don't like that song.
I don't think for a minute that you'll "give the people what they want".
You Didn't Have To Be So Nice. I've heard this one before, but I don't know who the artist is.
By the way, I started this at work yesterday, but everything went to (expletive) and I didn't get past song two. So I'm listening on Tuesday night at home (with the Bose head phones) while the wife watches Gypsy Sisters. I don't get to do this and type as I listen very often. Anyway, you are sounding mighty good in hi-fi Mike.
I'm liking this next song. I feel like I should recognize this artist even though I've never heard the song. But I can't place who it is. This isn't the Guess Who is it? Fever Tree?
I have no idea who is "giving the people what they want". But it sounds like they are having fun doing it. Oh, the Kinks.
Fleetwood Mac. Oh Well, Parts 1 and 2. This sounds familiar. I do believe I have heard it. Oh yeah, definitely have heard it. It sounds so different from the Buckingham/Nicks version of the band. But this part one really rocks. And Part 2 really slows down and chills out, and I dig that too.
Fried Chicken...yes. Collard Greens...no. I may be from the South but I don't like that crap. Papa Joe's is a pretty good song though.
Now that it's over, I'm giving the Golden Pell to Fever Tree. I think that's what you said. Probably would have went with Oh Well, but I've heard Part One, so we'll go with that other one. Really good show bro.
They were up 4 - nil. C'mon, get in the spirit of REAL football!
I knew you would play that Kinks song with that clue. But you didn't play it in the same order as the clues so you had me guessing. The other clues were familiar but I couldn't immediately guess what song they were. Then I figured it out. As the songs were playing. I'm smart.
You know, I never paid attention if "Oh Well" was in stereo or not. Never really noticed, until now. The song is so f****** awesome that it doesn't make a difference if it's in stereo or not.
Off topic just a little bit, but I wish there was a Fleetwood Mac comp of the pre-Buckingham/Nicks years. I have a bunch of the albums, but sometimes it's nice to grab a comp to listen to. I believe there is a Peter Green-era comp or two, but between him and B/N, there's nothing. Kinda sad since there's some GREAT songs on those albums.
And to start off with Cyndi Lauper was pretty cool. Whenever I hear that song, I think of Captain Lou Albano.
Nice show!
