ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL6- ODDS AND ENDS PT.1

I haven't done an Odds & Ends show in quite a while, and coming off that long Series it seems due.
And I am finishing off a Vacation, just a few weeks off to relax and do things I mostly didn't get around to doing- hey I am a Professional at Lazy, I have a PHD, lol!
But I am  looking forward to the remaining weeks I have in August to do the Vacation right!
That's what this opening Episode is loosely based on- nothing really specific, just Songs that can be applied to a Vacation in some way- Traveling, Beaches, Driving, etc.
Let's go on a Creep that lasts much longer than Four Days!

RJ,
I don't know if Odds and Ends Pt.2 will be great.
You probably won't be able to tell, but I can't remember a time when I wanted a show to end so much so I could relax, lol!
Yes, I love Steppin' Out out too, one of those you instantly like.
Seems we all agree about The Deftones, but I liked that song, until it started sounding like a vinyl record used as a frisbee, lol!
And how about this, two consecutive Golden Pells to The Rolling Stones?
That's gotta be a first!
And from the strangest album the Stones ever did.
I am surprised- I didn't think anybody would like hearing it that much, even if they remembered it, lol!
But it is so out there it has a certain sentimental value.
Not for you though...but I did have the thought you might enjoy hearing it once as an artifact from 1967.
They only time Wyman ever sang lead, and the snoring is funny- hell, that is something I am sure I did to a few friends with a tape recorder, it's what you DO, I just didn't have an album to put it on, lol!
I thought the same thing when the Hendrix song opened, he has that distinctive guitar style!
Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker, not to mention that other stuff, lol!
Happy you liked it.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Michigan? Maybe in the winter, by the big Lake, with guns, lol!
It's true, living in NYC I don't have a car but many of my friends do.
And I hate to fly for a lot of reasons.
I'm not crazy about The Deftones either, but that song I liked.
Love The Beach Boys song.
That is definitely a weird Stones song, from their weirdest album, Their Satanic Majesty's Request- which is I think is the church you go to, lol!
No, that wasTaj Mahal doing a good Wolfman Jack imitation.
And another real good track from that latest Hendrix CD.
Actually, you don't know what to expect on any show I do, but Odds & Ends and the Faves & Guilties are probably a little more eclectic and peculiar...ah, maybe not, I don't know.
I would ask what this means, but I'll hate myself when I get the hugely LONG answer, lol- WHPTBBSATGP. IKHTWAISM.
Thanks for the listen and writing, and saying "Fantastic show!",
Mike

Odds and Ends are always great.  No exception here.

Four Day Creep was good, but Steppin' Out was terrific.  Love that song by JJ.

A staple (The Beach Boys) followed by a very trippy song from The Deftones.  I actually agree with Jon, I never have gotten into The Deftones.

I'll give the Golden Pell to The Rolling Stones.  Just like last week, I thought the guitar and various other parts sounded like the Stones, but I was sure that wasn't Jagger singing.   The snoring at the end sort of cracked me up.  I didn't know what was going on.

Although I've never heard the song, I could tell immediately that Somewhere was Hendrix, just from that guitar opening.  He was very distinct.

And the closer was funny.

Good show dude.

This was a cool show. Humble Pie & Joe Jackson to start it off?

Damn. Thought you were coming to Michigan, but you don't need a passport for that. Just some guns for protection. So, where is Mike going? Is it Canada, he did mention that country, but was it just to throw us off the scent?

Does he have a car? He could drive to Canada, but he lives in NYC and nobody needs a car there.

The Beach Boys song was pretty good. The Deftones are kinda "eh" to me. Never got into them.

That's a weird Rolling Stones song. Can see why it never was a huge hit. It's good, but definitely not mainstream.

And then Jimi and Taj Mahal (was thet really Wolfman Jack?).

These songs were completely unespected. I like odds & ends. Don't know what to expect.

Fantastic show!
