Classic Rock Bottom

This is the time of year when they have The International Whistlers Convention in Louisburg, North Carolina.
For over 40 years, thousands of people from all over the world would come for Assemblages and Whistling Contests.
But it seems the Historical Society sponsor has pulled out and there is no Convention this year.
Naturally it would be the year I pick to do this Series I've been thinking of doing for so long, lol!
That's not going to stop us, is it?
Of course not!
The joy of this Series will be hearing Songs you either forgot, or never noticed, had Whistling in them.
And there is always the possibility you are hearing these Tunes for the first time.
In any case, I invite you to join me for this Maiden Voyage.
I can almost GUARANTEE this is going to be fun!

It was a great idea for a show!

It has been a totally crazy week at work to this point.  I'm certainly hoping tomorrow is a bit better and I can check out part two.

Jon,
Sorry man, thought I posted this.
See, I know what's fun for you, even got you whistling!
I don't worry about nowadays, and I'm not Politically Correct.
Come to think of it, since when did YOU become Politically Correct, LOL?
Since I don't know which you mean, I just might play that certain song from the 80's that starts of with whistling.
Think I do though, but rather than playing to to death I've never played it!
Maybe I'm wrong, but prepare to be enraged, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, and whistling,
Mike

RJ,
Wasn't sure where you'd go with the Golden Pell.
Thought it might come down between Guy Mitchell and 26 Miles.
So a surprise, Jethro Tull gets the GP.
I have a funny story about being alone in a bar in the 2-3AM hours as a bartender, drunk and hearing Jungle Love.
Probalby lose it all in the telling, lol!
I KNOW I've got people thinking of songs with whistling in them- that's a lot of the fun!
Good idea for a Series eh?
Thanks for the listen and writing, and thinking,
Mike

I'm trying to think of songs with whistling in them...this is all I've got:

Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay (Redding)

Patience (GNR)

Jungle Love (Steve Miller Band)

Short comment today. Golden Pell to Jethro Tull. I really like the song by Guy Mitchell. But I have heard it so no GP.

Great show.

You're right, this WAS fun. I had to pause it for a moment and, when I walked away, I was whistling!

You know someone would get upset with the Four Lads song nowadays. It's not PC!

Nice whistling songs, just hope you don't play a certain song from the 80's that starts of with whistling. That specific song has been played to death.
