ROCKOLLECTIONS: WHISTLING PT.8 CONCLUSION

It's the Final Chapter, and still there were songs left over, lol!
A few more New Century Whistling Songs.
Then some Odds & Ends I knew I'd get around to, and hopefully there are some surprises in here for you.
Beginning with a Song from 1955 that to me sounds like it could have been recorded anytime.
Here's wishing you enjoyed this Musical History Of Whistling In Song Through The Years- naturally I couldn't play all of them.
And thanks to all who stuck around for the entire Series!
For me, it was a Labor Of Love!

RJ,
Look at it this way, I've crashed near the end of a show and had to do the damn thing over again, you were only listening, lol!
Guess it's happened to all of us writing a lengthy whatever...computers can be maddening.
Sometimes I throw 'er in reverse to break up the monotony...not that there's ever any monotony on MY show, lol!
I'd have a tough time picking between The Jayhawks and Fred Neil too, and throw in JT.
But the Golden Pell gets awarded to Fred Neil (correct spelling), a song I had forgotten had Whistling till a guy sent it and reminded me.
That's odd eh, you would have had to give it to the The Jayhawks!
Some day I have to play Fred doing Everybody's Talkin', the big hit for Nisson- Fred Neil wrote it!
This Whistling Series was more fun than I've had in a long time, pulling out old forgotten songs, surprising people with the Whistling in them, finally doing what I had thought about for years.
For me, it really worked!
Thanks for  the listen and writing,
Mike

I got almost all the way through that first track and then the internet went on the blink.  So I had to start all over.  Nothing at all bad here.  I had a little trouble following who did what as you went in reverse.  But JT, Priscilla Wright, the Kingston Trio and Monte Python were all enjoyable.

I was having a difficult time picking between The Jayhawks and Fred Neal for the Golden Pell.  But I've resigned myself to awarding it to Fred Neal.  Two really cool songs.

Enjoyed it Mike.

Scott,
Sure, go ahead, post the Scorpions.
And ruin Jon's day, possibly the weekend!
Just when he thought it was safe...the poor guy, LOL!
I'm sure he'll want to wrap you up with a bow!
It ain't me Jon, lol!
I can't disagree with the Golden Pell to Mr Taylor, that's a nice song!
Now he's a Happy Whistler, amazing how many times he does it in song!
Thanks for the listening and writing, you made it in for the 9th inning, lol,
Mike

Jon,
Only you, "a 14 y/o girl singing about a man in a rain coat, but I guess it was ok back in the 50's", LOL!
It's just a nice song, the girl is acting older- I mean she has feelings too JON!!!!
While the Scorpions are not the first band I think of, I was aware of their song.
And I would have played it.
It's possible I didn't because that guy reminded me about the Fred Neil song.
Imagine that...your day hinged on a suggested reminder, lol!
Actually though, I had others in mind I left out that I liked better, so you were pretty safe.
I too wonder what I can possibly come up with next, lol!
I'll play it fairly safe for a while, then act on another of my hundreds of ideas, so rest asssured I'll have something ambitious, even daring, for today's Radio!
Thanks for listening and writing all the way through, and calling it a nice series,
Mike

I haven't had the opportunity to listen much lately - sorry Mike! - but I have followed the content and some of the comments.  Gotta admit I wasn't expecting Jon to fuss the Scorpions tune.  I like that tune - a lot!!  Maybe I'll post it here just to make sure this gets wrapped up ...  with a bow!

Gotta give the GPell to Mr Taylor but only because I love that Python tune and the GPell is suppose to be a tune I didn't know.

Now to hunt that video down...

This was nice finale. I don't know about a 14 y/o girl singing about a man in a rain coat, but I guess it was ok back in the 50's? Still, it was a nice song.

All the songs here were good. You know why? Because you didn't play "Winds Of Change" by the Scorpions! That would have ruined my day! Yeah!

Nice series, Mike. Wonder what you can possibly come up with next?
