SALUTE TO FATHERS PT.4 - CORRECTED LINK

SORRY ABOUT THAT- AN UNKNOWABLE, UNEXPLAINABLE HAPPENSTANCE WITH COMPUTERS!

Moving to Part 4 of our Salute To Fathers, we have songs from Fathers to Daughters.
Followed by a couple of more Sons to Fathers.
Then some Miscellaneous Songs that I didn’t have a slot for, but are interesting, and I wanted to play nonetheless.
One in particular is a song you should all know, but may never have noticed the role of the father is played and sung by a WOMAN!
This episode features our poets, plus a guitar hero, a lovable madman, a famous folk group and even an old Doo Wop song.
Do enjoy- and there will be 2 more episodes.
To those who qualify, living or dead, Happy Father’s Day!

Here's the link (and one that works!) to an interesting mixed bag present for Dad, at WLSO.FM:

RJ,
I am a big Harry Chapin fan, so he always just sounds like him to me.
Paul Simon is from a fairly recent album called Surprise, and his voice is soothing.
But I don't want him doing kid's songs- there's enough of that now, I'm looking for adult music...hard enough to find, lol!
That's funny, Andrew Dice Clay- not that there's anything wrong with that!
Aha, you figured I would get around to My Father's Eyes.
Good thinking on your part, lol!
Hey, you know how I feel about John Sebastian, lol!
Check those lyrics out in that song...the guy was/is a genius!
Be watching your mailbox- I'll be sending stuff.
And where is Rick Springfield, lol?
Thanks for the listen, and Happy Fathers Day my friend,
Mike

Mike,

Nice show.  Standouts for me were:

Harry Chapin - That's a nice song.  I can't quite place it, but his vocals reminds me of someone else.  My immediate thought is John Denver.   I'm just not sure.

Paul Simon - His second appearance for this theme if I remember correctly.  Another nice song, but I do like the other one just a bit more.  His voice is so soothing, he really should do a children's CD.  Not like nursery rhymes (leave that to Andrew Dice Clay), but just songs about kids or being kids or being a parent.

Eric Clapton - I had a feeling you would get to this song eventually.  I really hadn't heard it in a while.  It's a great song, with my favorite part being the female backing vocals.

And yes, I did enjoy the John Sebastian song.

Good show bro!
