Wow, another pleased listener, lol!

The Cat Stevens song is not that well known in America.

And agreed again- like I wrote to Jon, the best of the half hour for me being Give Me Back My Job- that ROCKS!

That is clearly Golden Pell material and a worthy winner!

I have to tell you, I listened to this yesterday. When I listened, I was not in a "note taking" mood. That being said, I ended up jotting down most of the songs anyway. And I liked 'em all.

The Alabama, Johnny Paycheck and Supertramp songs are all songs that I've heard before. I wasn't sure if I had heard the Cat Stevens song or not, and I still don't know. But I have heard it now.

And the Jerry Lee Lewis song was cool, but the Golden Pell must be awarded to Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Carl Perkins and Tom Petty. I also think you said Bono, but it was hard for me to understand. Either way, they get the Golden Pell.

Not big into country music, but that Alabama song did start off with a mention of Detroit so I should be happy. But I'm not. Liked the meaning of the song but, dang it, it was way toooooo country for my taste.

That song by The Vogues reminds me of "The Drew Carey Show"! Why? See below.

This is a bit odd to me, but while the Cat Stevens song was playing, I noticed there's a song from the 80's that (possibly) borrows from this song. Don't know why I never noticed it before, but…

The job shove song is quite interesting because it's one of those songs that was made into a movie. There's not a lot of those out there, but this is one of 'em.

This was a fantastic show, quite a nice mix. Except for the Alabama song (again, tooooooo country) the rest of the "country" songs were more "rock" to me. I really, really did dig this.
