It's Merrie Amsterburg, and please take a look at what I said to RJ.

Give me MORE PEP!!!!

I didn't like Donna Summer, even though a girl I was going out with did.

Nice story about the cake, rain and the park- should write a song about it.

Al Stewart is indeed always cool.

And isn't it also cool that you know me now, my style and where I am going with a subject, but you can never be sure what I will play next?

However, I could never do it without your assistance, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,

RJ,

ALRIGHT, now those are some cool opening words!

There are similarities, but that first song is even faster- things are flying at you, lol!

That's a great point of yours about George, no one other than George Jones can ever say he sounded like George Jones.

It's too bad a lot of Rockers haven't discovered him because they feel he is too…

I think he's great!

Whoa, we have a Decisive winner of the Golden Pell, lol!

It's Jesse Malin, with some help from Bruce Springsteen.

Yeah, I'm a big Stray Cats fan, love that old Rock & Roll.

I really dig that one by Merrie Amsterburg (I thought it was Mary too when I first heard her)- love the horns that seem to get louder as it goes along.

If you can, check out the beautiful, slowed down version of the Police's Walking On The Moon she does, I think it's terrific, heard it years ago and have played it on the show.

There were two groups, the Rockers & the Disco People, I was firmly with the Rockers, had no use for Disco silliness.

But with age, you mellow, and I thought I'd give that Donna Summer a listen.

To my pleasant surprise, it actually had something to say, lol!

Another gem thought from you- disco is light years better than today's hip hop music.

Oh man, then I LOVE Disco, lol!

Boy, from what I've heard back, I think stunned a lot of people with the Al Stewart song!
But that's what I like to do!

I've heard that first song many, many, many times. The more you listen, the more "mentions" you notice. You need to listen to it more than once.

Ok, country. Not for me. This also sounded like it was recorded off of an AM station. The cymbals sounded staticy. Staticee? Staticcay. It just didn't sound clear.

Oh. Bruce. Again. I think you played this before? THAT was nasally.

Yep, Stray Cats are cool! The band. Actual stray cats are sad. We picked one up a couple years…

Yep, Stray Cats are cool! The band. Actual stray cats are sad. We picked one up a couple years ago, it was at a post office and was a few months old. Now it's incredibly large. Like panther-large.

Mary Amsterberg has something like a little girl's voice. The wasn't too bad, just too peppy. I don't want pep!

Who doesn't like Donna Summer? That's kinda stupid. I once left a cake out in the rain just to see what would happen. It disappeared after awhile. I did leave it in a park, though. That's probably why.

Al Stewart is cool.

Glad I could assist!
What a fun show Mike.

What a fun show Mike.

First song was okay, but there was actually too much going on lyrically for me. I guess that song is in the same style as It's The End Of The World As We Know It and We Didn't Start The Fire.

But song two was George Jones, and it's difficult to go wrong with Ole Possum. He has one of the all-time great voices. Not in a pure vocalist way, but just in originality. No one, I mean no one other than George Jones can ever say he sounded…

Broken Radio is the decisive winner of the Golden Pell (meaning I'd love to have that song to add to my playlist of Golden Pell winners...). The guy Jessie Melon or whatever his name is had a weird voice, but it really didn't bother me.

I'm not really a Stray Cats fan like you and Jon, and the song by Mary Amsterburg was neat, but her voice was very annoying to me. Sounded like she had a stuffy nose. Just one of my hangups.

And you finished with two winners. I really like On The Radio. So does my wife. I'm not a disco hater like some folks. Donna will always be okay in my book. Besides, disco is light years better than today's hip hop music. And Al Stewart was cool too. I have heard that, but for the life of me couldn't place who it was until you revealed it.

Great show dude.
