I had it on cassette when it came out. Left that behind and then bought the CD later. Without going to the source to confirm (or deny your perceptions) I always liked it. Not sure if it is front-loaded, which very well might be since those songs do tickle my memory more than the second half, but I still hold it pretty high. That being said, the follow-up is a beast in its own category, that could not happen without this album setting the stage first.

Like I said in the piece, some great material but struck me as leaving room to grow. But it's not like I'm getting rid of the album or anything. I still like a lot of the songs and will keep it in rotation.
