A monumental and influential album for sure.
I kind of envy how it didn't take you long from hearing the music to get the album in your hands. I wish the same was true for me. I could tell you a story about how I got the CD, but it is long. Nonetheless, the album aged well. In fact, I consider it a Musical Masterpiece.
You aren't the only one to think of the album that way. Some of the feedback I've been getting on the article in other places has said the same thing.
BTW, it took me longer to get the album on CD but yes I was able to buy the cassette pretty quickly after "discovering" the band.
And as a follow up, I went to play the cassette again after I had written and submitted the article and it gave up the ghost. The cassette died and now I only have the CD as a working copy of the album.
Yesh, tapes tend to do that.
If they release a nice box set with lots of memorabilia, autographs, etc I wouldn't mind having the KOTSK pat 1 & 2 upgraded.
