Classic Rock Bottom

What or where is your musical sanctuary?  In other words, where is your favorite place to listen to music?  At one time, mine was my vehicle.  Unfortunately for my music listening, I now have a very short commute to work, so I can only get in about 2 songs.  It takes quite a few trips to go through a CD these days.

I do the majority of my listening on my iPod these days.  This is very convenient, but not ideal.  I don't like the small earbuds and I do believe they are doing some damage to my ears.  Not that I listen with a really loud volume like I did in my youth, but still, they can really irritate the ears after a while.  I do have some nice Bose over the ear earphones which are much more pleasant, but I can't use those at work.

My dream sanctuary will hopefully come to fruition with my next home.  I now live in a small, 3 bedroom house where my computer has to share a room with my newborn.  Needless to say, it's a little cramped.  But in my next home I will have my own personal media room.  It will have a nice stereo, a nice flat panel TV and my computer, all sync'd and connected for my media viewing and listening pleasure.  This will be my sanctuary, and although I must be patient, it will happen one of these days.

I mostly listen to music in my earphones when I do some work at home, like laundry and wash the dishes. That's about a CD a day. I would love to crank the volume up on the stereo more often, but neither my wife or my daughter share my taste in music, so it's usually a "no go", it has to be when I'm home alone.
When I'm writing in my office (the whole basement is mine and mine alone), I listen through headphones. Whenever I'm driving, especially to work which takes about an hour, so I can get through a CD or two there. And then I have my phone where I have a bunch of songs and listen to that while walking into work from the parkgn garage, or shopping. It's kinda fun that way because then people leave you alone...or they're saying something to me but I got the music cranked up so loud they think I'm rude and ignoring them, which I would probably do anyway. :-)
Lately, I seem to be listening to music mostly at work or in the car. At home I'm busy doing other things.
