CHEAP TRICK - BUSTED (1990)

Thirty-nine minutes and forty-one seconds.  That's an excellent length for a long player, and that's exactly how long Cheap Trick's newest effort runs.  On a different note, the band busted out of the 80's with Busted, released in 1990.  To this day, taking into account the newest release, this album is tied with Heaven Tonight as the seventh highest charting album in the band's history.  Forty-eight is where both albums topped out, and although Busted has not received a certification in the U.S., it went Gold in Canada.  The band did score a Top 20 hit with Can't Stop Falling Into Love (#12).  This album seems to be a continuation of Lap Of Luxury to me, with a similar formula for late 80's syrup being employed.  They even reference the previous album Lap Of Luxury on the song You Drive, I'll Steer.  That being said, it has some dang good songs on it.  Oh yeah, that Beatles influence really shines on the track Had To Make You Mine.  That song sounds like it came from way back when. I can't find a bad song on this album.  Can't see why it shouldn't rank fairly high in the scheme of things.  What about you?
