"I was working overtime with my balls in my pocket", one of my favorite lines from Cheap Trick's new album, and it comes from the first song (Heart On The Line), a kick in the butt to get the album started. But this post is about One On One, the band's sixth full length studio album. An album that went Gold and broke the Top 40, a respectable, but not great, number 39. Three singles were release, but none of those cracked the Top 40. I'll be blunt. The album has one of my all-time favorite CT songs on it. If You Want My Love is just an amazing tune and sounds like it could have easily been a Beatles tune. Another great CT lyric resides in this song, "lonely is only a place". Five words that just seem so profound to me. But even with a song so good, this is my least favorite offering so far. She's Tight is pretty good, a typical CT song, but I can't get into the rest of the album in the least. It beats out Found All The Parts on the strength of If You Want My Love. What do you think of One On One?
