Journey's first live album was released in February of 1981. It reached number 9 on the U.S. charts and has since been certified Double Platinum. The Party's Over (Hopelessly In Love) was a Top 40 hit (#34). The song was the only studio track on the album. Also of note, the song Dixie Highway had not appeared on any Journey album to that point. This album would be founding member Gregg Rolie's last album with the band. The album is not from a single show, but it is performances culled from several stops on the tour. I like this live album. The band sounds terrific. Of course, I'm sure there is some studio doctoring, but I don't really care. The tracklist is fantastic and I love the way the band goes directly from Lights into Stay Awhile. These are my favorite versions of those two songs. I also think the live version of Walks Like A Lady is terrific. What do you think of Captured?
