That is good soundin' rain on the Doors tune. But is it the best? Hmm.....
Liked this show as good as the first one, Joe Jackson needs some dues, underrated in my book. And no, not the Twilight or Hunger Games books.
And the bestest thing was...NO BLIND MELON! Yayyyyyyy!
Rainy season a bit messed up this year, March was the rain shower month and now April feels like full blown summer (except for those two cold days last week) - Weird year!
Nice pick on the Doors tune! Like that one!
Golden Pell goes to Joe Jackson easily! Although I really enjoyed the flasbacks from Johnny Rivers and Dee Clark a lot! This track was really nice.
And nice closer! Its been a ton of years since Ive heard that one!
Nice series Mike!!
Oh yeah, I liked this show.
Those first two songs are certainly familiar to me, and though I think both are good songs, I'd say I like The Cascades tune better.
That Johnny Rivers song is so classic and awesome. I love that song. And who wouldn't love a song that mentions a great album with an awful cover by a great band? This was definitely my favorite song that you played, but of course, the Golden Pell cannot be give to a song that I know. More on that later.
I got it right! Riders On The Storm is always the first song I would think about if we were discussing songs with the rain sound effect. For some reason, it seems like there is an ELO song with actual rainfall (not a sound effect) in it, maybe from the Out Of The Blue album. I'll have to check on that.
I think the Neil Sedadka song is certainly okay, but he definitely sounds like a woman singing. No offense meant, it just sounds that way, and you get a little wake me up when he mentions "her or she". Anyway, doesn't he sing Bad Blood? That's my favorite song by him. I bet you didn't know I knew a song by him, did you?
The Golden Pell will go to either of the two songs you played that I haven't heard before. Those are the Joe Jackson song and the song by The Move. Isn't that another ELO connection? I'm going with The Move, although I think both songs are pretty cool. And this is about the 4th or 5th time recently that I've taken note of Joe Jackson being mentioned around here or on other sites.
Great show Mike.
Getting ready to listen, my first thought would be Riders On The Storm...
