ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE SOUND IS WOR-FM PT.6

In this chapter, Murray the K goes off after playing a song you'll know, that WOR-FM was the first in the country to play, and for a good while it was the only station to play it.
Rosko comes on, doing some scat singing to an instrumental I cannot identify, and he is doing his show live from a club called The Cheetah.
Now he was the one we didn't know from other stations, and he was the biggest surprise,
His real name was William Mercer, often talked about how he had been a men's room attendant in New Jersey, and went by the name Rosko on air.
He had a very interesting delivery, and did unusual things on his show, some of which I will get to.
If you are interested, in this episode I will play THE song that was responsible for my deep and abiding love for our Music that continues to this day.
I just hope YOU like it, lol!

Jon,
Whiter Shade Of Pale cannot make sense, no matter how stoned, LOL!
Funny but true, that story about Life magazine.
I like that, it was a listening fort!
Hell, I am brilliant, lol!
The protective wrappers make no difference for keeping the sound in, but might make your forehead sweat.
Hadn't thought about it, but you have a point with more talk than music in this one.
But if it is entertaining, so what, right?
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

"Whiter Shade Of Pale" does make sense. When you're stoned! I think.

That was a funny story about Life magazine. I mean, I built forts out of blankets and sheets, never built a listening fort out of magazines. That kinda makes you brilliant, I suppose. I do have some old Life magazines, maybe one day I'll try what you did. They're in protective wrappers though, wonder if I'd have to remove them for the "full effect"?

I've heard a few DJ's singing along with songs, some of them were funny, most weren't. But there was no skat, man.

More talk than music on this episode? Maybe about even? I don't know, but it was a good one!
