ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE SOUND IS WOR-FM PT.8 CONCLUSION

I'll finish that First (and last!) Anniversary Concert at the Village Theater on June 11, 1967.
The acts perfectly reflected what WOR-FM was playing by that time, the station was a huge success with over a million listeners- and the best part was these were primarily college students and young adults who didn't listen to AM or FM...they didn't listen to the RADIO!
WOR-FM had created a new audience!
But the greedhead suits and consultants always want more.
Thank goodness WNEW-FM was listening!
They picked up the ball WOR-FM dropped and ran with it.
You will hear Rosko quit on the air in this episode.
But the Sad Story of WOR-FM will have a Happy Ending for most who were involved!
Hope you enjoyed this journey, and I thank you for getting on the bus with me!

That's what I said, 30 records.

But your scientific mathematical breakdown including commercials was indeed a pain in the head.

Or the ass, LOL!

Didn't you mention that they only were allowed to play 30 records? Maybe I misheard.

Jon,
EIGHT parts, and you finally came to, lol!
I have no real idea what you mean here: "30 records? Without commercials, that's around 90 minutes of music, unless you're talking about full albums and not 45's. I guess 30 full albums would be about 20 hours of music, leaving 4 hours of commercials during the day. That sound right?"
That's headache-inducing, but if I had to listen to the same 30 records over and over again I would kill myself...or the radio!
And the same goes for 30 albums!
That's why I have NO playlist whatsoever- any song ever made is allowable.
Happy you thought it was a nice series even though you might have heard it before.
Just say no to those drugs my man, LOL!
Although maybe my shows just get better with age...you think?
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I remember this show! Why didn't I remember the others?

30 records? Without commercials, that's around 90 minutes of music, unless you're talking about full albums and not 45's. I guess 30 full albums would be about 20 hours of music, leaving 4 hours of commercials during the day. That sound right?

But, if there were only 30 albums, that would get boring the second day, at least to me.

Eh, what do I know?

Nice series even though I might have heard it before? I DON'T KNOW!!!!
