Classic Rock Bottom

More Favorites and Guilty Pleasures- I and I will be very GUILTY!
Starting with a Song I just felt like hearing.
Then a trip back to the Past, with a few things you may not know- like Music by Ronnie Dio when he had a group in the early 60's, with a sound suited for that time.
And did you know Jo Jo Gunne took their name from a Chuck Berry song?
I'll play it!
Songs with a couple of my favorite Bass Lines in Rock & Roll are in here.
This is what happens when I am turned loose in a Record Library!
And I'll end on a far more serious note for this coming Memorial Day, for those Heroes who gave their lives while serving,
God Bless and Protect Our Armed Forces, and God Bless America!
Wear a Remembrance Poppy!

No, I didn't watch it. The urge passed.

No, surprisingly you spelled Iris Dement right.
You are smarter than you think- smarter than I thought, lol!
Guess not too odd with J.J. Jackson as MTV original VJ.
You know, we didn't have cable in Brooklyn then?
The politicians hadn't been greased and yet figured out to divide the riches!
It's true!
Yes, Ronnie Dio hung around after the 60's, playing local gigs wherever he could, LOL!
Did you ever watch "Heavy Metal"?
No real theme, but I usually find something linking things- I can't help it, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, I am trying to catch up,

It was interesting to hear Ronnie Dio like that, but it was the sound of the time.
And right away the Golden Pell to Chuck Berry for Jo Jo Gunne!
I love that J.J. Jackson song, missed it when it was out but know it as an Oldie, lol!
Good Old Merle.
Thanks for the listen and writing, guess you'll read this when things return to a certain type of normalcy.
All good thoughts for that,

That song by Iris Dement (definitely spelled wrong, too lazy to look it up) is quite nice even though there is a bit of country-leaning in the voice. Very nice.

You say J.J. Jackson and I immediately think of MTV when it meant something. Is it weird that I remember the names of the original VJ's?

SO, did Ronnie Dio have much of a career after the 60's? Name rings a bell but I just can't place it.

I just had the incredible urge to watch "Heavy Metal". Not the greatest movie in the world, but it has awesome music.

I like these mix shows. No real theme, just throw stuff at the wall. Yes!!!!!

I liked part 2 better than part 1, but 1 was good too.

It's funny to me how different Ronnie Dio sounds on that song.  Of course, the song is so different from what he became famous for.  But it's cool to hear.

I loved the Chuck Berry song.  What a great story song.  I've really begun to like CB.  This one get's the GP.

But It's Alright is an amazing song by J.J. Jackson.  I've heard it many times, but never really listened to it. It's got a killer beat and riff and is a marvelous musical song.  And the vocal is terrific.  Just a great song, so good I'm about to find it on Youtube and post is in one of the Facebook groups I'm a member of.

The two closing songs were enjoyable as well, especially the Merle Haggard song.  Good work my friend.
