Classic Rock Bottom

It's about time I take a Musical Look at a Major Player in what contributes to the Rat Race, The Boss!
I have had a very few who became true close friends, some I couldn't stand, and most I am ambivalent about.
Don't bother me and I won't bother you is my attitude!
But good or bad, we all have them and must deal with them.
I should tell you that when I sat down to do this Chapter my mind went toward the Blues.
So I hope you like the Blues...I do!
Not exclusively Blues, but enough.
Maybe that is because I have some deep-rooted resistance to authority.
Ya think, lol?

Oh RJ, forgot to mention, I played the re-mastered Beatles version of that song!

Maybe the reason it was first time you ever noticed that percussion- they did a masterful job on those albums.

RJ,
Good ears my friend- those ARE bongos and a cowbell on The Beatles song!
And it's Ringo playing them.
One of the best things for me when The Beatles released all their albums brilliantly re-mastered on 09/09/09, was while listening to them with headphones I heard things I hadn't before.
And the two main revelations for me was that George Harrison was a great guitarist, and Ringo a great R&R drummer!
You can't help but come away with that impression.
Roy Orbison gets the Golden Pell.
Damn I was sure the Gordon Lightfoot song would get it!
I think you are a big Lightfoot fan but don't realize it yet, lol!
He got me right away, but at just the right time in my life.
Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who is a fantastic suggestion!
I hadn't thought of it.
Would be a great song to end the whole Series with, but I think I have a better one in mind.
So the question is where would I fit it? I'll dig it out and see what happens.
I almost hate to play such a long song because it will lengthen the Series, and it clearly appears people are tiring of the Rat Race series, or maybe I am picking the wrong songs, so I will take a week or two break from it for other things.
But again, a terrific suggestion I should have thought of...just go right to that ending of the song!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Hey Mike, quick listen and comment today.

The Beatles, a staple of course.  Hey, this is the first time I've ever noticed the percussion on that song.  I hear what almost sounds like bongos and a cowbell.  Probably not a cowbell, I'm guessing it's the drum stick against the drum head frame.  But I've never noticed that low, frantic percussion before.

Best song about the boss man for me was the Roy Orbison tune, so he get's the Golden Pell.  But I did really enjoy the Gordon Lightfoot song as well.  I usually do like the stuff you play by him, and it almost always seems to be new to me.

One last note, how 'bout a song that mentions the boss, like Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who.  Would that fit the series?

Jon,
That was a fake yawn, an acting yawn.
My fault?- this is the thanks I get for expanding your musical horizons, lol!
Hey the only thing I can be blamed for is playing music.
Too much Blues for the masses I think...you are part of the masses I think.
Hell you are the Rat Race, we hate you!
Gordon Lightfoot is ALWAYS good!
I Gotta Get Out Of This Place, lol,
Thanks for listening and writing, NOT yawning,
Mike

Remember when you yawned at the beginning of the show?

I was yawning throughout the show. I could lie and say I greatly enjoyed this show, but your yawn made me yawn and that continued my yawning, so it's really your fault.

I just couldn't get into this. I am very sorry, but please place blame where blame should be placed, and that's on you.

I'm not saying you should be ashamed at yourself, but you need to curb that yawning. Maybe take some Beano before doing a show?

But a good thing is that I did like the song by Gordon Lightfoot, even though I continued to yawn. I even yawned during The Animals song.

Wow. That ended kinda quick. You were probably stifling a yawn.
