Classic Rock Bottom

In 1978, Steve Perry arrived and totally changed the arc of Journey's career.  Thank goodness.  I've always looked at Infinity/Departure/Evolution as sister albums.  Infinity is amazing!  Even though ballads make up 50 per cent of the album.  Well, Winds Of March is half-a-ballad.  It just doesn't matter, this album sizzles.  Lights is one of my most absolute favorite Journey songs.  Feeling That Way and Anytime are also classics.  Two tremendous hidden gems can be found here too.  The epic Winds Of March and Something To Hide.  Really, there's just not a bad song here.  Thoughts?

I caught them in NYC right when this album came out. Greg Rollie sang the first couple of songs, then they introduced "their new singer". Steve opened his mouth & laid the first 20 rows out! Everyone was looking at each other asking "Who the hell is this guy???" Openers were Van Halen & Ronnie Montrose. Great concert!

I would have loved to have seen that!
