I don't think it's my weekend on NMC.
I think BCC will be good. But I know Niels is tired of GH's voice. Maybe JB will sing a couple of songs, like he did on the second album. Turnpike Troubadours have a new one coming out, but I know they are too country for everyone around here.
I hear ya on that, I have one or two surprises in my top ten albums but then there's a handful of albums that would've not made previous years top ten lists. I'm still hoping my american ears hear something they like when RJ posts Foo's in NMC this weekend...
I actually had some expectations for this album. I admit, I haven't heard the whole album yet, but only 3 songs short, I haven't heard one song, that is especially good, but several songs, that kind of annoyed my ears. It seems to me, that 2017 will be the year, where there aren't any great albums released at all. At this point even Metallica's album from 2016, would be the best of this year. Especially the "Rock/metal"-albums have been big disappointments to me, so at this point only "Alternative"-albums like Anathema, Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem, maybe even The National will dominate my top 10. And those albums are only good, not great. What is there to look forward to, the rest of 2017? Robert Plant might make a good album, but I doubt it will be great. Where're the new albums from Flying Colors and Spocks Beard??
Would it surprise you to hear me say I'm not surprised to hear what you say? I have it, it came in today. But I haven't listened to it yet (other than the songs they have already released).
