Thanks Mike.
Another half to go!
Like Rjhog, I could care less about Mardi Gras. The beads, the voodoo, the drinking..wait, the drinking is fine. It's the damn beads and evil voodoo!
However, unlike Rjhog I liked each and every song except for the Paul Simon tune. Don't know why. I like Paul Simon, but this song did absolutely nothing for me.
The song(s) that preceded it though reminded me of watching an evil cartoon on USA Up All Night years and reays ago. It would fit in perfectly with an onld black and white cartoon with the jumpy picture and all the bodies going up and down like accordions. Maybe this is a by product of the acod from a few weeks back, but that's what it reminded me of.
Liked the Fats and LR songs as well, they put me in a festive mood, sans beads and voodoo of course.
Great listen!
Great show Mike ....
I don't think anyone can change me.
And people are already lining up to dispute that perfect remark...it stretches for blocks, LOL!
Mike
I certainly wouldn't want to change you. You are perfect just the way you are.
Mike,
I have to be truthful. I'm not a fan of Mardi Gras. No particular reason. I've never had any interest in going. I don't really like the musical style that, for the most part, this show features. It's just one of those personal preferences, although I'm aware that Fats Domino certainly contributed to the sound and influenced many rock artists that I do love. It's just not for me.
However, I did manage to find a worthy Golden Pell recipient. That would be the one and only Paul Simon. Take Me To The Mardi Gras was a cool little song. And truth be told, I kinda liked the song before it by The Dixie Cups.
Don't get me wrong. I still like to listen. Always do. This musical style is just not for me.
RJ.
