Jon,
Very good Live-Aid version.
But I preferred the regular video.
I was sitting here thinking they took a lot from Fritz Lang's classic silent film "Metropolis", and at the end they mentioned the movie.
Thanks for both, they are interesting to me who would not have seen them otherwise,
Mike
And here's the Live Aid version:
Ok, I see it.
And I just voted!
I have not listened to "regular" radio for many, many years now and it's because you hear the same stuff over and over, plus the commercials. We have satellite, but there's no commercials on the stations I listen to?
While working I listen to internet radio, and have found some good ones without commercials. There was one where some British guy talked on and on about buying something so the station would still be free to the listeners and I swear it went on for about 20 min before I found something else. Quite annoying.
Hey, I guesses on Elvis and Rush! Elvis (either one) I could care less about, but Rush is different. As for that Queen song, when I first heard it, I thought it kinda sucked. But then I saw them perform it at Live Aid and that performance changed my mind. Since then I have admired that song, plus the video is cool to boot.
Bruce was a decent song, still doesn't make me a fan though. Van Morrison is always good, and that last song I swear I have heard before, but not by Bob Lynn or it reminds me of a different song. Not bad, but familiar?
I listened to Rush and Queen's debut albums right after I listened to this show. As a matter of fact, the Question Of The Week on the main page deals with those two albums.
Nice show McMike.
Van Morrison for openers. It's okay, but probably my least favorite song on this show. It seemed like it was 20 minutes long. That being said, it was still okay.
Some big names. I was thinking of that Rush song right before you played it, but couldn't think of the name of it to save my life. And the Queen song was never one of my favorites. Actually, I disliked it. But, now it sounds so much better. I think that's the first time I really listened to it. Now I wanna listen to a Rush album and a Queen album.
I like that Bruce song. He get's no love from the regulars around here, but that's a good song, I don't care what Jon says. It's fairly heavy for a Bruce track. I've seen that cd in the used cd store, might pick it up next time I'm in there.
And Elvis Costello all but had this Golden Pell in his hand, then you played that last song. Bob Lynn I think you said. That's gorgeous. Very reminiscent of Gentle On My Mind by Glen Campbell. Bonus points for that. And the Golden Pell to Mr. Lynn.
