Bands I really am trying hard to like... but its not working...

So I'm watching the Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage DVD, again, and I hear Neil Peart get asked what other bands he's into. He replies that he's really into The Police. Its the 80's so the reply makes sense. But it makes me go back and listen to the Police yet again.

Ive been trying to like their stuff since Roxanne came out. Ive tried and tried. I even bought Synchronicity to be cool when it came out, I think its still in the sleeve brand new.

When do I give up?

What bands have escaped your musical tastes that everyone else thinks are great?

Even though, I've just made a Nirvana-page her at CRB, I've tried and tried, and bought a box-set and a DVD, but the only thing, I love about them is Dave Grohl's drumming. The only reason, I bought "Nevermind" in 1992, was his drumming on "Smell likes teen spirit".

I agree with Scott about Rush, oops, I mean The Police. Other than their hits, their music is hard to get into. However, I have recently listened to their first album and that's pretty good.

Also, I'm with Niels on Nivrana. I bought Nevermind when it came out and kinda liked it, but now if Nirvana comes on the radio I change the station.

I'll think of some more later.
