Classic Rock Bottom

As my Gran Maw Maw said right before her ass was fried in that faulty electric chair, "All good things must end...OUCH!"

This is the album I've been hyping for a few weeks now. This is the album I've listened to at least 8 times since purchasing. This is one of those albums that, upon first listen, my reaction was "WHOA!"

I went out of order last week so this is the album that preceded "The Power Of Eternity" and was released in 2006. From my tally I think most folks rightfully think "Argus" is their masterpiece. Well, let me go on record saying if you liked "Argus" then you'll like this one. If someone asked me what Wishbone Ash album(s) to pick up, it would be "Argus" and this one, titled "Clan Destiny".

Yes, I know there are some folks that don't like Andy Powell's vocals. I firmly believe that you'll change your mind after listening to this album. If not, well, I've been wrong before.

I can't find a weak track on this album though "Steam Town" might sound weak on first listen. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say if there's ANYONE that doesn't groove out to "Capture The Moment", well you ain't a friend of mine. Hell, I believe you'll want to listen to that track again right after it finishes!

So put on those headphones (believe me, it sounds fantastic) kick back and see what all the hype is about.

She loves me, she loves me not, she loves me, she loves me not, she loves me!  ... I knew it!

This album is back on the Argus track, your right!  Love this opener a ton!  And it keeps rolling...  Some nice dual geetar work, not quite Thin Lizzy dual attack good, but pretty cool none-the-less.  And I'm not getting the progressive feel like Argus either, but the songs are strong for sure and I liked Steam Town first listen so I'm not sure what you didn't like about it but if I had to choose a song that they could've left off its clearly got to be "Surfing a Slow Wave" that one was just "eh" for me.

OK, I hear Argus on Capture That Moment, your right on this one - really nice geetar work also!!

I need to listen once more, but this is definitely on the Wish List after the first listen!

Steam Town just didn't seem to fit upon first listen, but the more I listened to this album, the more I liked it.

And right? Capture The Moment? I have no idea how many times I've went back and listened to just that one song. I just dig the line, "stay in that sweet spot, let the fear and loathing slide by"...Hell, I'm listening to it AGAIN! Whoo hoo!

Really glad you enjoyed this...I kinda hyped this one up, was feeling bad that it wouldn't deliver!

Still spinning the Wishbone Ash, trying to digest it all, so I can give a "Niels like" review!

I've listened to this several times now, it's really good! I didn't blow me over like Argus did when I first heard it, but the album keeps me engaged & wanting to listen. This is definitely something that I would add to my listening rotation, there's a lot of good stuff here, As a matter of fact, there's no dogs here for me. I like the vocals a lot better on this one! They still have a Peter Garrett/Midnight Oil sound to them, which for me is Good! I like Dreams Outta' Dust a lot! Loose Change just has a good feel to it. Captutue The Moment & The Raven remind me of Argus. I don't mind Surfing A Slow Wave, but I like surf music. The Ventures, reverb, I dig that stuff! Steam Town was ok, I didn't have a problem with it either. The geetar was excellent throughout, but that's what I've come to expect with Wishbone Ash. I think the biggest difference was the vocals. A lot less abrasive & it produces a much better sound! This would definitely be number 2 behind Argus. I've enjoyed the ride! Thanks, for exposing me to Wishbone Ash!

Glad you enjoyed it, but the ride ain't over yet.........

But wait, there's more? I was just going by the immortal words of Gran Maw "All Good Things Must End...OUCH"! You admittingly revealed, that we have heard the best 2 Wishbone Ash albums & you state the ride isn't over? Then tell me, what dark & twisted path will lead us down next?
