Smash. Nightwish is one of my favorite bands and this is another good tune, though I will admit they are an acquired taste.
Jon loves this style - whatever its called... Me on the otherhand? Not so much... I do like the music somewhat though not much else... lowercase stash.
Nightwish is often referred to as Symphonic metal. They have changed female singers three times. Their early albums were on the heavier side while their more recent albums are a little more orchestral. I like all of their work but really like the early years. Oceanborn and Wishmaster are two of my favorites.
My favorite is Imaginaerum. Tarja had a tendency to go overboard sometimes, even though she has a fantastic voice. I liked Anette a lot, really sad that she left/was fired or whatever. The song "Slow, Love, Slow" blew me away then and still does. Totally NOT rock, but awesome.
Yeah, I can't for the life of me figure out why they can't seem to hold on their female singers. The band definitely changed with Anette on vocals. While I preferred the Tarja years, a lot of people like Annette better.
Hmmm....I'm not a fan of this style either. Even though occaisionally it can be good, listening to. I expect the new "The Gentle Storm" to sound kind of like this. I will get that one, because Lucassen's last release became my album of the year (2013). But that album didn'tt sound like this. This is just a minor stash.
