Classic Rock Bottom

I have'nt really got much time this week, to look out for some brandnew video's, so the "new" one's this week, is not THAT new, but as usual I'm going to show you 5 "new" and 2 classic, where one of the classic's ain't really a video(?!). I hope you'll watch it anyway and give your ratings. Here we go:

1. BUCHCHERRY - ALL NIGHT LONG

The hardrock band from Los Angeles with the title-song from their album "All night long" from 2010.

2. BAND OF SKULLS - I KNOW WHAT I AM

The english band, with a song from their album "Baby Darling Dollface Honey" from 2009.

EDENBRIDGE - HICHER

This is a band from Austria (I think) and this is from the 2010-album, "Solitaire".

THE BLACK KEYS - THIGHTEN UP

From the 2010-album, "Brothers".

BLACK MOUNTAIN - OLD FANGS

You might have heard this song in an earlier NMC.

VAN HALEN - AND THE CRADLE WILL ROCK

I don't know, if you can call this a "real video", it's more something from a TV-show (a german on, I think), but I had never seen this clip before, and it's very cool to see a (sort of) video from "Women and children first".

FATE - I WON*T STOP

This song reminds me of 1986. I really liked this band around that time. Denmark's first good AOR-rockband, and they where good at that time, but what about nowadays? And what about the cheesefactor??

You may still be working on this, but Band Of Skulls is the only video that's showing...

Yep, I was. I don't have much time at the moment, so I've made this at work, mostly at my lunchbreak. It works now, doe'snt it?

Yep, it looks better now.

Buckcherry (0.5 points)

The song is a decent hard rock song.  Pretty much a straight forward party song, so 0.5 points for it.  No points for the fake live video.  I'm glad I don't have epilepsy, because I'm sure that would have triggered a seizure.

Band Of Skulls (1 point)

I didn't like the song at first, but it improved as it went along.  I like the beat.  I also like the tone of the guitar solo.  The video isn't bad, I do like the psychedelic background, at least it's not flashing or strobing...0.5 points for both.

Edenbridge (-2 points)

This is terrible.  The song is awful and reminds me of why I'm getting a little tired of this genre.  The video is just as bad.  Terrible acting and the lead singer looks really weird when she sings.

The Black Keys (2 points)

This, on the other hand, is awesome.  That's the best, most original video I've seen in awhile.  The two boys fighting and lip syncing, which changes over to the dads.  That's great.  And the song is good too.  I've seen some glowing reviews of this album, so maybe I should check it out...does anybody else here have it?

Black Mountain (1 point)

I like the song, and I do remember it from NMC.  I just bought this album thanks to that NMC.  The song gets 1 point, but the video blows.  I thought that one dude was Chris Robinson until he took off his shades in the motel room.

Van Halen (2 points)

I've never seen this either.  David Lee Roth: Accept no substitute.  In hindsight, his cheesiness was only equaled by his coolness.  No wonder Eddie didn't like him in the band.  If you didn't know any better, you'd think DLR was the whole show.  Great song as well.

Fate (-2 points / Cheese Factor 10)

I can't even describe how bad this is,video and song.  And the cheesiness speaks for itself.  Please don't ever make me watch this again.

That was fun Niels!  As always, I'm looking forward to next week.

Hahahaha, I LIKE the Fate-song, Did you know, that the guitarist is Hank Sherman from Mercyful Fate, King Diamond's first band? When I was younger, there was a Rock-"dicoteque" in Copenhagen called "On the Rocks", where I came a lot. the keyboard-player was a DJ there, so I've told him to play some rock a few times, when I was "a bit" drunk.

1. Buckcherry (1.5 points)

I like the song, and the video ain't bad (1/0.5)

2. Band of Skulls (0.5 point)

The song is kind of booring, and so is the video (0.25/0.25)

3. EdenBridge (1 point)

I don't think this song is so bad. The video kind of entertained me. (0.5/0.5)

4. The Black Keys (1.75 point)

An okay song and a cool video. The first punch, came rather as a surprise.(0.75/1)

5. Black Mountain (1.5 point)

A good song, but the video was rather booring. (1/0.5)

6. Van Halen (2 points)

What can you say. Van Halen ruled at that time!!!

7. Fate (1 point, Cheesefactor 9)

I DO like this song, but an AWFULL video. The Cheesefactor speaks for itself!!

BUCKCHERRY... (1.25 points)
Love a good riff!  And this tune is full of them.  Im kinda afraid of the singer though.  hahaha. Video is better than most but just ok.  1 point for the song and .25 for the vid!

BAND OF SKULLS... (.25 points)
Last time I heard a song start with the lyrics "HI HO" it was 7 dwarfs singing.  Didnt like the tune either.  I should give them points for being unique though.  Nah nevermind!  .25 for song and vid...

EDENBRIDGE... (.25 points)
Someone needs to coach her on her eye movements, little freaky...  I dont why this is coming to my mind, but the scene transitions are poorly timed and throw the video off.  Song is just ok and video kind stunk.  .25 for the song, 0 for the vid.

THE BLACK KEYS... (1.5 points)
Love this video!  just awesome!  1 point.  The song is growing on me as I listen too.  .5 points.  May need to hear more.

BLACK MOUNTAIN... (1.5 points)
Love the Deep Purple feel to this! Cool car too!  Video is strange at best.  But I kinda liked it in a weird way.  .75 each.

VAN HALEN... (2 points)
Bad lip synching, dorky solid gold type show, the band cant match the song on the tape player.  Van Halen doing one my favorites in a rare video?!!!  +2 points.

FATE... (-2 points, cheese factor 9)
OK, the singer dude is scaring me.  Bad riff, and worse keyboards, ugh.  This is titled Dont Stop?  Maybe shoudlve just been titled STOP DAMMIT!  I wanna stop this time, is the best line in the tune!  YUCK!

It's funny, I thought the same thing about that chicks eyes too...

And I totally forgot to mention the cool car in the Black Mountain video, but you picked me up on that one.
