Classic Rock Bottom

We all know that for Joe Dirt it's Van Halen, not Van Hagar.  But what do you guys think?  For me, it's also Van Halen (with DLR), but I've gotten a better appreciation for Van Hagar over the last few years.  I've always liked Van Hagar's hits like Dreams and Finish What Ya Started.  This band has always put out great music, even though they played around with some silly stuff during DLR's reign like Big Bad Bill and such.  Also, I think Van Halen III with Gary Cherone is better than most people give it credit for.

Well, for me Van Halen is not really Van Halen without David Lee Roth. I've never been much of a Sammy Hagar-fan, and Gary Cherone belongs in Extreme. But I don't HATE the "Van Hagar"-stuff, it's just not as good as the "Van Halen"-stuff imho. I think "Van Hagar" was much more popular in the States, than it was in Europe.
Van Halen by a long shot. Van Hagar seemed more suited to the masses, Van Halen took some chances. I occasionally listen to the Hagar stuff but it just doesn't hold up as well. Seems dated to me.

And every year I listen to Van Halen III thinking that I will start to like it. It hasn't happened yet.
