He re-recorded it, didn't he? And it sounds the same. Compare them, I dare thee!
Huh? You saying it's not from the MAW debut? Unless he did a remake that sounds exactly like the MAW song, I'm sticking with my story.
Johnny Blade!!!!!!!
John Stephenson Barleycorn!
Nice show. For some reason I've been smoking a lot of "stuff" and you played two songs from The Grateful Dead. Interesting.
That Robert Palmer song is another one that makes me feel weird for some reason. Just gives me an odd feeling.
Warren Zevon is the epitome of cool. Totally 100% cool. Can't go wrong with ANY Zevon (does that rhyme?)
Nice show, would be better with those two "John" songs though. Especially JOHNNY BLADE!
One a sidenote, I watched a doc on the Cowsills these weekend. Very interesting stuff. Daddy was a nut job from what I saw. Complete nutjob! But their music was actually pretty good for a bunch of clean cut youth. I'm gonna get me some. DADDY ISSUES!
What week is it anyway?
I love "Bad Case of Loving You" by Robert Palmer, as far as I know it the one and only tune I know of his as a solo artist, this one sounds cool but I'm not sure its interesting enough to seek more of his work. Its a little too "A-Ha" for me...
My Golden Pell goes to Warren Zevon. By dar the best tune played in this set!
Here's two of my favorite Johnny song titles...
The one I'm surprised didn't make your Johnny list was "The Ballad of John and Yoko"
That's a really good show Mike. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. So I'm gonna give the Golden Pell to the show, not just an individual song (I guess that's against the rules since I've heard a couple of the songs, but like you, I says forget the rules). However, if I were gonna give a GP to a song, it would be the opener by Robert Palmer. That's a killer song. I think I might need some of his back catalog.
You know, this would have been more challenging for you if you had limited yourself to songs about John only, no Johnnies. But since you did it this way, I'm immediately thinking Empty Garden by Elton John. Or does the name have to be in the title? You could also play a Bon Jovi song, that would make Jon and Scott very happy.
Now, my next question is when you do Mary (), will you use name derivatives there too? I'm thinking Maryanne....
Jon me lad...very very close but no cigar...I got tricks up my sleeve, lol!
Umm....Mike?
That's a Men At Work song. I'm sure that Colin wrote it but it's from their first album.
