Classic Rock Bottom

CLASSIC ROCK BOTTOM NOVEMBER MUSIC CHALLENGE (THE INAUGURAL VERSION)

Before reading further, ask yourself this simple question:

AM I UP TO IT?

If your answer is "yes", continue reading. If your answer is "no", continue reading anyway. You might change your mind.

It's quite simple, really.

For the inaugural version we have picked five categories and what you need to do is listen to the amount of albums listed in each category during the month of November. For those that complete this quest you'll be given the opportunity to pick a category for an upcoming challenge.

For those that originally answered "no", let's try that question again:

AM I UP TO IT?

Now I'm thinking that your answer is "yes". Maybe it's even "YES!"

For the first month, we're going to keep it simple:

NOVEMBER CHALLENGE*:

1) 4 albums released in the 1960's

2) 4 albums released in the 1970's

3) 4 albums released in the 1980's

4) 4 albums released in the 1990's

5) 4 albums released in the 2000's (2000-2009)

It doesn't make a difference what type of music you want to listen to. You want to listen to rap? Go ahead, we don't care!

You can keep everyone updated with the albums/decades you've listened to by posting them below. And yes, if you do complete the challenge, you can choose Zamfir** as one of your categories in an upcoming challenge. I mean, who DOESN'T want to listen to the master of the pan flute***?

Remember, this challenge starts in November****.

So...........

ARE YOU UP TO IT?

*Yes, Scott. You have to listen to 20 albums.

**Scott has all the Zamfir albums, so beware.

***Me

****No, Scott. You can't start early

2012?

Yes, is that not cool?  Does it need to be between 2000 and 2009?

Yeah, it should be. I'll update the post above.

Yep, you should've made that clear dude.  Now I gotta listen to another album...

Sorry.

Todd Rundgren--Arena (00's)

80's started

Icehouse - Man of Colours

I'm wrapping up 60 & 70's today while working. Dunno if I'm going to continue with the 80's +, might just save those for another day.

Chicago--X (70's)

The Moody Blues--Days Of Future Passed (60's)

The Beach Boys--Pet Sounds (60's)

The Beatles--Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (60's)

Emerson, Lake & Palmer--Brain Salad Surgery (70's)

60's & 70's are complete!

I gotta jump on the 60's thanks to my wifes mid day nap...

1 - Fleetwood Mac - Then Play On (The more I listen to this the more I like it!  Great blues geetaring and whoever Madge is, Im sure glad they fought and searched for her!)

2 - The Beatles - Rubber Soul (Everyone should own this!! I should double count this one because Jon said I could count it since I listened to it a little bit earlier and then RJ said NO, but since he doesnt have override power over Jon I had to wait for another ruling.  And go figure!! Because of their new "partnership" going so well he sides with RJ...  )

1. Was that the remastered version?

2. Damn skippy!

1 - Yes

2 - UGH!
