For Anyone Near Detroit
Every year there are free summer concerts outside my place of work, the Ren Cen. And just to rub something in, here's the listing of who's playing (or played) this year. Oh yeah, these concerts are FREE!
July 13: Sponge (Plowed, Molly, Wax Ecstatic) and John Waite (Missing You, When I See You Smile, Back on My Feet Again)
July 20: Starship (We Built This City, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, Sara)
July 27: Ace Frehley, the "Spaceman," famed former guitarist of KISS (Cold Gin, Shock Me, Parasite, Rocket Ride and New York Groove)
August 3: Lou Gramm of Foreigner (Cold as Ice, Hot Blooded, Juke Box Hero)
August 10: The Sweet (Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Love is Like Oxygen) and The Tubes (featuring Fee Waybill) (She’s a Beauty, Talk to You Later)
August 17: Mark Farner--songwriter, guitarist and unmistakable voice that powered Grand Funk Railroad to 12 platinum and 15 gold albums (I'm Your Captain, Loco-Motion, Mean Mistreater, Rock 'n Roll Soul, Some Kind of Wonderful and Bad Times) and Marshall Crenshaw (Someday, Someway)

That's what I was thinking as well. Only problem is, getting a good spot to actually see that band. Went to Foreigner a few years ago and, even though we were there a couple hours early, we could barely see the stage. Guess you could camp out all day....
