Classic Rock Bottom

Okay, I'm trying something a little different here.  I've been scowering the internet for new music (either brand new in time or brand new to me and probably you), and from time to time I'll present it to you this way.  It's a mixtape.  I'll limit it to 5 songs.  It may be the same band for all five songs, like in this case, or five different bands.  The subject today is the Canadian band The Trews, who started in the late 90's and released their first full-length album in 2003.  This material is streaming at reverbnation.com, and it comes off of their 2008 album No Time For Later.   Reverbnation allows you to embed a nice little player and I'm beginning to really like that site.

So if you have a few minutes, give it a listen.  Tell me what you think, even if you don't like it.  If you do and you want to read more on The Trews, click the link.

I thought this was decent, especially the second track. Not surprising I would like it the most, as it is the only real hard rock song of the five. I would not purchase it without hearing some more, but its not bad. The lead singer's voice reminds me of the guy singing lead for Pop Evil.
Hey!  Im not hatng this!  Kind diggin it actually...  But Im with Gordon, need to hear more as this sample is not attracting a purchase decision...
It's not bad, but don't think it's something I would purchase because there's really nothing that grabs me. Kind of a heartland rock vibe on this, except for song two. It's like they're opposite, mellow with a rocker or two, instead of the other way around.
Sometime in the '90's, I probably would have bought this one. The first track is actually pretty good. Best new song, I've heard today. Yeah, I really like that one. The second track, is not as good imo, but not bad. I've just read, that good ol' Jack Douglas produced the album, they made before this one. The rest of the tracks are also good. If there wasn't so many new cd's, I was planning on buying in the near future, I probably would have bought this one, but I'll save my money for some NMC-music.
