Classic Rock Bottom

NEW (and CLASSIC) VIDEOCORNER#28 - (DOWN, SLASH, MÖTLEY CRÜE & AC/DC )

DOWN‘s video for the song “Witchtripper” has been released and comes off  DOWN‘s new EP, “Down IV Part I – The Purple EP”:

“Bad Rain” is the new video from legendary guitarist Slash. The song comes off the former GUNS N’ ROSES axeman’s second solo album, “Apocalyptic Love”, which sold around 38,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Home Sweet Home" was originally released in 1985 on the album Theatre of Pain, and again in 1991 for the Decade of Decadence compilation album. It has been recorded as a cover version by several artists, and was released as a single by Carrie Underwood in 2009. The 1991 version had a new music video, different from the original version.

Along with "Wild Side", "Home Sweet Home" is one of the rare Mötley Crüe hits to have Vince Neil credited with the songwriting, though he did play a part in writing many of their non-hit songs.

"Heatseeker" appeared on the 1988 AC/DC-album Blow Up Your Video as the first track. The song was later on Live. The song was also released as a single in various formats, with "Go Zone" as the main B-side. On reaching No.12 in the UK singles chart in 1988, it became - and remains - their biggest UK chart hit.

Down--3

I'll probably be the only one who likes this. It has everything I adore: Moonshine, chickens and pipes! Again, as with Gravyard from the previous post, throwback metal but this isn't burning me out. Anselmo sounds pretty good, and I liked the little tribute to Gilligan's Island. Well, if GI's was EVILLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Slash--2

Song didn't do much for me, kinda plodding until the chorus. The video was kind of cool, they could have got a better looking dancer though, maybe Betty Rubble or Suzi-X. Guess the bar was EVILLLLLLLL? (That's the second time today!)

Down (3 Footballs)

First, the song title alone gives it an extra football.  The song's not terrible, but not particularly good either.  I get a big time Mastodon vibe from the combination of the song and the video.  Think Curl Of The Burl.  By the way, was the "stone" at the end of the video the "Witchtripper"?

Slash (3 Footballs)

The song is fantastic.  This should have 5 footballs, but the cartoon video ruins it.  I hate animated videos like this.  What's the purpose?  If you don't wanna make a video, don't make a friggin' video.  Plain and simple.  Now, since I watched the whole crappy video, didn't her boobs grow after she took off her top?

Motley Crue (4 Footballs)

It says not available, but I remember this one well.  I think this is a pretty good ballad, probably the most recognizable of the late 80's hair band ballads.  I hated the remix.  Mick Mars plays a fantastic solo on this.  And it has the obligatory boob flash (almost).

AC/DC (3 Footballs)

One thing I'll say about AC/DC.  For a band that's been around as long as they have, put out as many albums as they have, and gone through the turmoil and tragedy of losing an iconic frontman, they have never once tried to change their formula.  Now, I'm not saying that's bad or good, but what other bands that have been around this long can say that?  This is just okay for me.  I like the first album with Brian Johnson best out of all of their albums, but I like the Bon Scott era of the band better.

her boobs and her butt grew.

Motley Crue--0

Did not like this song when it came out, and still don't. Did not like the pandering video when it came out, and still don't. If this comes on a station I'm listening to, I turn down the volume. This song and "Kickstart My Heart" make me ill.

AC/DC--4

I've always gotten a kick out of the beginning of this video. I like this song but still have not picked up this CD yet. Have everything else but this one album. Angus in a missile...SWEET!

DOWN ...  No Danish for the wicked!

Bleh!  In fact they owe me a dozen hot for having to sit through that! Predictably this is no where near something I would enjoy listening to, let alone watch!

SLASH ... 4 Danish with wads of one dollar bills to spare

Cool tune!  Like that, and the video was OK, though Im not a huge fan of animated music videos either, this one was ok.  Maybe she was related to Jessica Rabbit?

AC/DC ... 4 Danish flying across the Outback!

The drum production was lacking on this release.  Would have loved to hear a more thunderous sound.  But why fuss its Angus! and thats always worth some head banging!
