Classic Rock Bottom

NEW (and classic) VIDEOCORNER#36 - THE CRINGE, CLUTCH & KID ROCK.

The Cringe | ‘Deep Girl’

THE CRINGE hit the studio to record the self-produced album with renowned engineer Steve Hardy (Vertical Horizon) and recruited Hardy and Jon Kaplan (Augustana, Parachute) to mix the band’s latest full-length and fourth overall. Fronted by singer/guitarist John Cusimano, the band emits a powerful rock n’ roll energy that draws parallels to contemporaries like Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, and Queens Of The Stone Age. The lineup is rounded out by drummer Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live Band, Bruce Springsteen), guitarist James Rotondi (ex-Air, Mr. Bungle), and bassist Jonny Matias (ex-Crash Moderns).

Clutch are celebrating the holidays with the below gift of a live performance of the title track to their new album, “Earth Rocker“. The footage was captured during an in-studio listening party the band held for select press, etc. back in October. “Earth Rocker” will see a March release through the groups own Weathermaker Music.

The Cringe (2 out of 6 amateur tattoos)

This song is very unmemorable.  My feelings will not be hurt if I never hear this again.  Don't get me wrong, it's not that it's bad, it's just nothing worth hearing again.  The video is different.  I almost wanna say I like it, but it never really goes anywhere.  It seems to me like they had a good idea with the animated tattoos but it's just 3 minutes of the same thing.

Clutch (Zero live in-studio listening parties)

I'll be blunt, this stinks.  I hate this.  Please don't ever, ever let me hear this again.  Please, nobody buy this and put it in NMC...nobody.

Kid Rock (5 out of 6 mustard covered corndogs)

Not saying it's really worth a 5 out of 6, but believe it or not, Kid Rock is better than the other two videos here. Especially the video.  At least it was mildly entertaining.

I am completely opposite you: I like The Cringe, I'm considering buying the new Clutch-album, and Kid Rock stinks as usual.

The Cringe--4 tootin' horns

I liked the vibe of this. Good thing thing it didn't sound like The Foo Goo Fighter Dolls because then it would have sucked. A bit stoner metal, but it had a funkiness to it. I kinda liked the video, especially the dragon spurting blood. But then the end of the video made me think of Hellraiser. Was she daid?

Clutch--3 party hats

I'm liking this songs, especially the "buhahahahahah" part. This song is really catchy! Video is nothing special, but the song just sticks with you. I'm an earth rocker!

Kid Rock--1 crushed New Years Eve ball

I used to like Kid Rock when he rocked. Since he's went country I could care less. herefore, I can care less about this song. The video was ok, funny at the beginning. I'll stick with my rocking Kid Rock, than you very much. Should dock more because I can't stand Cindy Crawford, but I'll give them the one. Hey, you can see where I work at then end of the video, just look to the far right!

Geez, what's the rating scale here? 0-4, 0-5, 0-6?

The Cringe (Half of whatever is allotted)

The video was cool, loved the dragons & medieval imagery. And the song, it was ok, I'd listen to it.

Clutch (Nada, regardless of scale)

WTH? Is this Arabic rock or something?

Kid Rock (Half of Whatever)

The video & the song are ok, but nothing special.

I was hoping Niels would hook us up with a new Muse video! Oh well, just a subdued anticlimatic end to 2012's NMC...
