This is a bit early since Christmas is this weekend, but here's a easy listening/heavier combination for this week's NMC. Click on either album cover to listen.
The Horrible Crowes - Elsie
The frontman for The Gaslight Anthem and his side project. It sounds similar to TGA, obviously because of the vocals, but I'd say it's a bit easier going overall. He doesn't have the greatest voice, but it's certainly not bad. Give it a shot and see what you think.

2. Behold The Hurricane
3. I Witnessed A Crime
4. Go Tell Everybody
5. Ladykiller
Sebastian Bach - Kicking & Screaming
He's back, I mean "bach". Anyway, this is much heavier than the first selection. I didn't buy Bach's previous release, Angel Down, so I can only compare it to the first two Skid Row releases. I don't think it's bad. I actually like the songs I included here, his vocals reminding me of how good he was on those first two SR albums. However, on some of the other tunes, he sounds a little wussified, or maybe just auto tuned up. I'm not sure which. Tell me what you think.
6. Tunnelvision
7. Dance On Your Grave
8. I'm Alive
9. Dirty Power
10. Dream Forever

If you ask me, Sebastian Bach is a complete joke, kind of like Spinal Tap, only they are/were sometimes funny, but I'll give it a listen later on.
That's me, alright.
THE HORRIBLE CROWES ... Two thumbs even
I cant say I didnt like this, it was actually pretty melodic and catchy, and thats a fit for what I prefer. I would say its a little too light and little too much like Coldplay at times to really be something I woudl purchase. Dont get me wrong, I like Coldplay, but one of them is enough... All in all this was a pleasant listen
SEBASTIAN BACH ... Two Thumbs even
Not a bad listen. I have to admit that I didnt think it woudl be as good as it was. So congrats to Bach for a nice disc of rock and roll! I dont hitnk it was breakout good! It wont catapult him back into the spotlight, but it will give him a nice way to get there. I am now interested in his next step...
The Horrible Crows--2 thumbs down
Well, they got the name right at least. The singer was trying to sound like Bono, then Robbie Robertson and then Tom Waits? I'm not into Coldplay at all so wouldn't know, or care, if they were alike. Bad album. Nothing stood out at all.
Sebastian Bach--thumbs higher than even
It started off great and then kinda went downhill. He sounds great, but the power ballad must have done me in. Decent album, but not something I'm itching to buy or even listen to again.
I bought the Sebastian Bach the other day. After two complete listenings, I think it's killer!
Heavy guitars, good songs, solid production. This one will be in heavy rotation for me. There are 13 tracks, and most of them heavy, so don't let the ballad fool you. I think it's just as good as any Skid Row album.
