East Of Venus--Thumbs down

This almost put me to sleep. The singer sometimes sounded like Neil Young, and while Neil may not be the greatest singer in the world, this guy is just blandly bad. The songs sounded like bad REM and I do not like REM at all. Not a pleasant listening experience at all whatsoever. Every song was a downer as well. No thank you and wow. That last song is really bad with that "singing". Yuck. Geez, who did you think would like this?

Elizabeth Cook--Thumbs Up

You know, for a country singer, this sure really ain't country except for maybe the 4th song. This sounds like rock to me, but anything would sound like rock to me right now after listening to that other album. Again, the singer here (I'm guessing it's Elizabeth Cook) sounds like someone else a bit and that someone else is Stevie Nicks. Went into this with low expectations due to that other album and came out of this pretty much impressed. Good stuff.
