The Fighter Movie Review

The Fighter is based on the life of "Irish" Mickey Ward and his trainer/step brother Dick Eklund with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in the starring roles.

Mark's character Mickey is going through a rough time and trying to regain his way in the ring having suffered through some defeats. Mickey's difficulties are hot helped by his manager mother who even though she is doing what in her mind is best for her son, doesn't seem to be helping Mickey. After a disastrous fight in Atlantic City and an offer from someone else to train in Vegas year round and be paid for it, Mickey with the support of his girlfriend debate on where he should go in his career... or if he should even continue to fight. In the meantime, Dick is being followed by a film crew who he thinks is doing a show on his life and attempt at a comeback to the ring but is actually doing a show on crack addiction from which Dick suffers from.

I found this movie to be a really good movie, entertaining and well acted. Christian well deserved the Oscar nomination he received for his portrayal of Dick. I can definitely recommend this one to anyone wanting to watch a good movie!

I'm giving this movie a 9 1/2 out of 10!

I loved the movie, but wow did I hate his family.

Same here. How about having to deal with all those freakin' sisters? Wow! I loved how he always jumped out the second floor window when his mom showed up. It started slow, but got very interesting. Good movie.
