Since Van Halen seems to actually be releasing a new album with David Lee Roth for the first time in 28 years, lets make up a VH playlist.  Let’s make a playlist of 12 hidden gems.  What’s that?  Van Halen has no hidden gems?  While that may be true for you and I, there are plenty of casual fans on the planet who only know VH for Jump, Panama and Hot For Teacher. 

 

So let’s make a playlist of VH’s hidden gems for the casual fan.  So here are the rules:

 

1. Only DLR era material.
2. Two songs from each DLR era studio album.
3. No singles allowed.

 

That last rule means you cannot use any of the following songs:

You pretty much wiped out the Diver Down album. V.H. were my favorite band. I need to revisit their releases. I just re-oredered Diamond Dave on ebay. I had that CD when it first came out and I was excited for it, but I was just out of high-school I was not ready for the laid back sound. Allmusic.com has it with a 2003 release date, but I swear it is older than that. Anyway, I relistened to it, and like it!
