Video's of the week #40

Yet another edition of VOTW, with the well known 5 new video's and 2 classic, this time maybe some cheesefactor?? Here we go:

BRING ME THE HORIZON - BLESSED WITH A CURSE

This is a new single, out 2nd May, off the album with the long title: "There is a Hell, believe me, I've seen it. There is a Heaven, let's keep it a secret".

PAUL SIMON - SO BEAUTIFULL OR SO WHAT

Paul Simon will soon release a new album, and this is the first single. Not exactly Heavy Metal, but there's also room for this kind of music in VOTW.

NEW YORK DOLLS - FOOL FOR YOU BABY

Newest video/single from the old band. There's only two original members left. The rest are dead, I believe.

GRAVEYARD - HISINGEN BLUES

I don't know much about this band. I saw an advertice for their new album in Classic Rock Magazine, and checked YouTube for a new video, and BINGO!

SISTER SIN - 24/7

This is the second video with this sweedish band in VOTW. Last summer, I posted a video, that some of you liked. Now what about this one?

QUIET RIOT - BANG YOUR HEAD

I was never a fan of this band. Kevin Dubrow was never my cup of tea. There could be some point for cheeseness in this video?? From the album "Metal Health", the only Quiet Riot-album, I ever bought. From, what, 1985?

MARC BOLAN (AND T-REX?) - I LOVE TO BOGGIE

Not exactly a promo, more from a show, but nevertheless here's Marc Bolan with a nice little tune, I've allways liked.

Damn! All this band needs is a new singer. I love the retro sound. The guitars are very nice, as is the bass line. But the vocals are horrendous. Therefore I can't give a point. I also like the vintage look of the video, but because of the lack of substance, I also cannot give a point.

New York Dolls (-2)

Horrible. Lead singer dude looks like Mick Jagger to me.

Paul Simon (1)

I'm giving the song a point. I was kind of on the fence, but I think it's pretty good. I liked the parts of the video that looked like vintage filming, but that's it. No point there.

Bring Me The Horizon (-1)

You see, this is the kind of alternative rock that sort of pisses me off. The song itself is not bad. I like the structure and even the short guitar solo, but the vocals are just awful. Horrible. Why don't you just sing like a normal home boy? The video didn't affect me one way or the other.

Throwback music, kinda like Wolf, Priestess, The Sword....just light up, sit back and journey back to the early 70's, man!

Felt like I was watching a "Naked Gun" movie whenever the siren popped up. Her singing ruins the song.

Quiet Riot--minus 2 stars, cheese factor 3

I jumped on the bandwagon back then and bought this album as well as the followup even though I felt they sucked. Guess a lot of other folks felt the same way after this one kind of, oh....plummeted? Cheese? I dunno, how the "fans" pumper their fists, the contang headbanging from Carlos, the poses Rudy was striking (most in the backround), Kevin just for being Kevin.

Marc Bolan--1 star

Song's decent but the dancers have no purpose at all. I just don't get it.
