Classic Rock Bottom

This time video's by AC/DC, RATT, NIGHT RANGER, U.D.O., STATUS QUO, BUCKCHERRY and HAMMERFALL. Enjoy:

HAMMERFALL - ONE MORE TIME

"One More Time" is a song by sweedish band HammerFall and was released as the promo for their new album "Infected". Two versions was released, the first featured a live recording of "Hallowed be My Name" and a instrumental version of the title track. Later a second version was released featured "Lore of the Arcane/Trailblazers" live and a newly recorded version of "Blood Bound". It was written by Vocalist Joacim Cans and Guitarist Oscar Dronjak.

BUCKCHERRY - IT'S A PARTY

"It's a Party" is the seventeenth single by Buckcherry, and the third from their fifth album All Night Long. Is this a video or an add???!! Buttoms up!

STATUS QUO - ROCK'N'ROLL'N'YOU

UK rock legends STATUS QUO have released their new video for the song, 'Rock 'N' Roll 'N' You', taken off the band's new studio album, Quid Pro Quo, which will be released exclusively in the UK through Tesco Entertainment on May 30th, and in Europe and the rest of the world through earMUSIC/Edel on May 27th.

NIGHT RANGER - GROWIN' UP IN CALIFORNIA

From the coming new Night Ranger-album "Somewhere in California" out next month.

U.D.O. - I GIVE AS GOOD AS I GET

“I Give As Good As I Get”, the new video from U.D.O., the German metal band led by former ACCEPT frontman Udo Dirkschneider, has been released. The song comes off the group’s latest album, “Rev-Raptor”, which is being released on May 20 via AFM Records.

AC/DC - THAT'S THE WAY I WANNA ROCK'N'ROLL

I WAS gonna post a video from "Flick Of The Switch" imo the last REALLY good AC/DC-album, also MUCH better than "For those about to rock". Tons of good riffs on FOTS, but then I remembered this video, and I saw this video for the first time a few weeks before, I was going to my first AC/DC-concert in 1988, and I've always liked this video, so here you go:

RATT - LAY IT DOWN

I was never a Ratt-fan, I don't like Stephen Pearcy's voice, but I DID buy the first 3 albums. This is a pretty good song, though.( I know, the album they released last year was good too, but I never got around to buy it.)

Whats three words you never want to hear when playing this video?  "One More Time".  Once was enough, hahahaha.

NIGHT RANGER ... 2 points
This was my 3rd listen of this.  I didnt like it the first time, the second was OK and this time I liked it a lot more.  Such is my relationship with Night Ranger, first listens are never good and then they grow on you.  I like this enough now to be interested in the album when it comes out, somehow I suspect RJ will have this the day it comes out.  But as far this video and tune go, Liked it alot ... this time!

UDO ... 2 points
Wow!  Older and more reflective!  Actually really older.  Simple video with just him and a black backdrop but somehow I just sat back and watched it all.  Very well done and put together, liked the tune aliot also.  Must be in a good mood today or something!  2 points!

(((Round 2 preview)))

My favorite 80's riff.

Ratt's best song as well...
3 points from Scott after only 3 video's. How will this end???

Hammerfall (0 points)

Those are some crappy looking zombies.  The drummer should twirl his drumsticks some more.  This was very uninteresting.

Ratt (2 points)

I really like this song and I liked the video as well.  But the cheese is flowing here.  These guys should be in the cheese hall of fame.  Still, Scott's right, this is a fantastic riff (although when mentioning favorite 80's riffs, I start with Unchained).

I start with "Restless & Wild" by Accept.

Night Ranger (1 point)

Strictly for the song.  That's a very good song for these guys.  I will be picking this one up.  Hey, is that skinny John Travolta on keyboards?  I recognize Blades, Keagy and Gillis.  At least 3 originals, but too bad Watson is no longer around.  He was a great guitar player.

AC/DC (2 points)

Good performance video.  I like some AC/DC a lot (Back In Black/Highway To Hell/Dirty Deeds), but the rest I've never given much of a chance.  I think this song is pretty decent.

Status Quo (1 point)

Strictly for effort.  I'm not familiar with SQ, but nothing here makes me wanna be.  I give the 1 point for the fact that these guys are still being creative with rock music at an older age.  I do hope that I still love rock music as much when I'm in my sixties as these guys do.  I'm pretty sure I will.

U.D.O. (2 points)

I'm very psyched about this one.  This song is really cool and so is the video.  It's very simple (the video) but it works.  Had it been some young dude that was making love to the camera as he was singing, I wouldn't have like it.  I just pre-ordered this cd (U.S. release date is 5/31/11, or tomorrow!) and I can't wait to get it.  This band is totally, totally new to me.

Buckcherry (1 point)

This band has so much potential.  I have seen them in concert and their live show is fantastic.  Josh Todd (I think that's his name) is a very good frontman, tatoos or not, and the drummer is a beast.  The guitar players are also very good.  They just need to get serious and write a killer rock record.  Forget the ballads and they can really forget all of the vulgar stuff that is meant to get your attention.  Just a hard rockin' album.  I would certainly buy that. The point is for the song, the video is just okay.

BUCKCHERRY ... .5 points
This band is frustrating..  so much potential and they have the right ideas, but the execution doesnt engage me and the songs always seem to fall short.  I gotta give them credit for a decent video though.  .5 points

STATUS QUO ... 0 points
So are these guys popular in the UK?  They're name sounds familiar but Ive never heard them before.  Just curious really, the song is very uninteresting and the video is exactly what it is, a bunch of hipster grandpa's playing music.  I say good for them, but thats about it.

ACDC ... 2 points
Anytime  we see Angus its good for 2 points!  Cheesy humor all over the place, and not them at their best.  But bad ACDC is better than 90% of everything else.

RATT ... 2 points
Best riff of the 80's!  RJ makes a good case for Unchained, but I think this one edges that by a hair.  Seen DeMartini nail this live on a few occasions.  And while Ratt ain't that special of a live band, his guitar carried them!

Wait a second: Does'nt anybody in the US know Status Quo???

...and I count 7.5 points, Scott. I'm back allright!!

I'm with Scott.  I've heard of 'em, but that's it.

I've heard of Status Quo, didn't they play Live Aid or something?

But never listened to them much if at all really.

Yep, they started Live Aid with "Rockin' all over the world"
