Classic Rock Bottom

I don't know about you guys, but I need a workout thread.  I have been so slack over the last year or two when it comes to excercising.  Why does that happen to me?  I feel so much better when I do excercise, it makes no sense not to do it.  It's great for your health and your looks.  But it's so much more satisfying to grab a bowl of ice cream and say that I'll go tomorrow.

I know from time to time we all get gung-ho about it.  But then comes that first time you blow it off, which turns into blowing it off for a week, then your not working out anymore.  So I'm starting a music related workout thread.  Anyone can post on it.  I'm gonna post every time I have a workout and what I listened to during the workout.  I'm hoping it keeps me inspired to continue excercising every week.  Maybe someone else can find some inspiration here and do the same.

Despite this lack of excercise, I've hovered around 225 pounds for the last year or two.  As of today, 11/2/10, I'm at 223 pounds.  My goal is to be around 210 pounds.  I want to be able to do some pull-ups without straining my upper back, which I can't do at 223.  I'm not looking for washboard abs, but I'd love to loose a few inches of the old belly.  And man-boobs are no fun, so I need a little help there.  So those are my modest goals and I'll post any progress that I make, maybe at least one person will join me on this.  Of course, if I stop posting, you know I've fallen off the wagon.

Okay, this post will be for yesterday and today (if I would have been witty, I would have listened to Y&T at one of these workouts).

Monday (11/1/10) - 30 minutes weight training - Paul Stanley 1978 Solo Album
Tuesday (11/2/10) - 30 minutes stationary bike - 3 Doors Down - Away From The Sun

Of course, hopefully these workouts will get a little longer, but M-W-F are difficult because I go on my lunch hour, so 30 minutes is about all I can get.
Well, I won't be adding much to this site, since my bag won't let me exercise much anymore.

I used to go to the gym 4 times a week, and lift weights, run 2 times a week (about 10 km. each time), swim 1 or 2 times a week and cykle to my work (10 km. each way) , but because of some kind of injury, I've had now for about 2 years, I'm only cykling a bit, and it's not on a racer of mountain-bike, because of the position, you have to sit in.

When I COULD go to the gym, I only listened to the music coming out of the speakers at the gym, and when I was running, I listened to mother nature.
Hey, I'm with you on the mother nature sounds, but only when I'm in the woods riding. If I run/walk (can't do much running b/c of my feet and heels) in my neighborhood, it's iPod all the way (mostly what you hear are cars and bass speakers). And I'm no fan of the music played at the gym (sometimes it's okay), so again, iPod all the way.

Niels, I know we have a very slight language barrier, but you said you can't because of your bag (which over here I would take to mean your wife), but I'm sure you meant your back. Right?
Ha ha Yeah, sorry, my back of course. I'm glad, that you can understand me.

Oh,you ride horses? My bag (wife, just kiddin'!!) and daugther rides all the time.

No, come to think of it, I know now you mean on your bike, right?

Yeah, I know what you mean, about your feet and heels. Man, we're getting old!!
Yep, it's a mountain bike. But I haven't been doing that either, but I tell you, that is great excercise. Those dirt trails are tougher than the pavement.
I typically like to listen to something very heavy, I get most of my Iron Maiden, Rush, and Priest listening done at the gym. But I also have an affinity for Earth Wind and Fire which Ive expressed a few times before on various forums, something about them really works for me, so they get a lot of ear-play at the gym as well...
I don't isten to music when working out(except walking). I have the tv on when working out, for some reason listening to music throws me off because then I think about the music and not what I'm doing and then BAM! broken neck.
