I want you to put some thought into this question. I think we can all agree the state of classic rock radio is pathetic these days. I am so sick of the ever shrinking playlist and repetition of the same tired songs. Let's pretend there is a classic rock/hard rock radio station not owned by one of the corporations like Clear Channel, so you have much more freedom in terms of a playlist. Pretend you are the program director and are assigned to design a two hour playlist for classic rock radio. The songs must be from the classic rock or classic hard rock genre (preferably a bit of a mix)
Here are the rules:
1) You cannot repeat the same artist twice.
2) You will program two hours of music with each hour containing ten-twelve songs.
3) Your playlist must be somewhat realistic. In other words, don't program something like Death Angel who never had any chance of airplay.
4) The songs must be radio appropriate. In other words, if they contain a lot of profanity, etc don't list them because we are talking about "corporate" radio.
5) Mix your playlist up.
I will post mine later.

Okay, my radio station is WCRB, and our audience enjoys classic rock with a bit of current rock thrown in, classics and/or deep tracks. Each hour has a 3 song special theme that starts at the "(Rock) Bottom" of each hour (which is represented by tracks 7-9, each track being in bold and italics. Here's my first hour, with the "(Rock) Bottom" theme being acoustic tracks:
1. Rock Bottom - Kiss
2. Magic Touch - Aerosmith
3. The Real Me - The Who
4. Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd
5. All I Ever Wanted - Shinedown
6. The Mirror And The Ripper - Volbeat
7. Prayer For The Little Man - Blackberry Smoke
8. Old Man - Neil Young
9. Time For Me To Fly - REO Speedwagon
10. Die Hard The Hunter - Def Leppard
11. Land Of Confusion - Genesis
12. We Rock - Dio
Hour 1 was oriented more towards classic rock, with a smidgen of current rock. The 2nd hour will be the opposite. The "(Rock) Bottom" theme for hour 2 is "current supergroups".
1. Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
2. Chilled - Armored Saint
3. Standing On The Edge - Cheap Trick
4. Blind Man - Black Stone Cherry
5. So Lonely - The Police
6. Paradise - Tesla
7. Avenida Revolution - Chickenfoot
8. No One Loves Me & Neither Do I - Them Crooked Vultures
9. One Last Soul - Black Country Communion
10. Shockwave - Black Tide
11. Tired Of You - Buckcherry
12. N.I.B. - Black Sabbath
They are both great choices
