Without a doubt: "Fractured mirror" is the winner!! I've allways liked that number, since I got the solo-albums in oct. ´78.

It's one of my favorite instrumental tracks. You would NEVER hear Paul or Gene make such a number, meaning that Ace was SO importent in KISS. I NEVER forget the day, I got the solo-albums. Great times, being a KISS-fan!!

Fractured Mirror by a long shot!  I like the Journey tune and the overall CD is good (I will get a response to that thread in the next few days), but it cant compare to the quality of Frehleys first solo outing!

 

By the way, someone out there has the job of making sure these MP3 files get metadata.  I think its a Music Database that fills this in when your rip a disc.  But whose job is it to quality control this information?  I find all sorts of mistakes in my ripped library like the one you found on the Frehley track... Annoying!

As a side note...  I would love the job of Quality Control over the Classic Rock department

The reason the Frehley disc comes up as Kiss is because the solo albums are considered Kiss albums.  The funny thing is that of the 4 solo discs, Ace, Paul and Gene register through Gracenotes as Kiss, while Peter registers as Peter Criss (I guess I'm not the only one who thought his solo album sucked).

 

I'm not sure what Quality Control job over Classic Rock you are speaking of, but if it has anything to do with CRB then you can have it...I know you are extremely capable.

I'm going with Fractured Mirror as well.  When I hear that song, I'm transported in time back to 78-79 and my elemetary school playground...something about the bells and just the sound in general.

 

I do like the Journey instrumental as well.  I started to pick one off of a solo disc of his that I bought a while back, but thought that since I was discussing the latest Journey album in another thread, I'd go with that one.  I'm gonna try to pick 2 songs that have something in common, like two instrumentals in this case, or maybe two ballads, or two songs with the same name when I do this Versus thread.

Going with "The Journey", like the jazz feeling to it, as well as the geetar doing the vocals. It's like it's telling a story. Nice work from Mr. Schon...and funny I forgot this was even on the album.
