Classic Rock Bottom

Well, you knew somebody would post it.  Do you have any New Year's Resolutions?  If so, post 'em here.

Mine, at this point, are:

1. Spend less money on CD's (I try this every year to no avail)

2. Read at least 2 books this year

3. Get in better shape (this get's more difficult as the years pass)

4. Be an all-around better person (Dad, Husband and friend)

My resolution last year was "spend less money on CD's", but then I volunteered for NMC.

Ive tried the spend less on music trick, doesn't work.  However, if classic rock releases keep slowing down, so does our spending I would bet....  Other than that, I have two..

1- Continue working out and stay healthy

2- I promised Mike Pell I would check into Hockey and see if its as good as they keep telling me it is...

Let me know what you figure out...I just don't get it.  I've seen a few minor league games here, but they are boring.  I'm sure the big league stuff is a little better live, but again, to me, it's boring on tv.  Not putting it down, I just can't get into it.  It's probably a product of being born and raised in the south, as the sport is much more popular up north with folks who have grown up on it.

You have a point there.

But even in New York, I played the game on the West Side of Manhattan.

Moved to the East Side, and nobody did.

Had to play for a Catholic school I didn't go to, over a mile away, lol!

Scott watch it now, because every year they make it more and more wimpy.

If they leave it alone it's the best game on earth!
I used to love baseball as much, but the millionaire steroid takers have turned me off.

I swear, I was NEVER more happy than being on the ice and playing hockey- even just by myself.

And I know what I am saying there, lol!

I remember a few friends and I caught a bus from West Caldwell, NJ and went to NY to see the Ragers play in MSG. We sat in the last row and drank alcohol with a bunh of businessmen whcihwas really cool since we were so underage. And the game was fantastic (from what I can remember).

Went back a few times after that, and it's really fun seeing hockey live, especially in an institution like MSG.

Jon, I used to be a Ranger fan, until they priced me out of seeing them a long time ago.

For a while I hated the Rangers and loved the Game.

But in the 1975 I fell in love with the Islanders, they made the playoffs and I saw these guys blocking pucks with their faces, lol...they would do anything to win.

Since then, the Rangers are a curse word in my house, and the Islander-Ranger rivalry is as intense as I can get in sports.

I truly HATE that team!

But seeing a game live is a great experience, the SOUNDS of the game- the skates on the ice, the puck clicking off sticks, the boards, etc...and when a goal is scored...it's all good!
