With the passing of Chris Squire, it seemed quite appropriate to post a playlist of Tribute songs. I've noodled around with this playlist for quite some time moving songs in and out as I come across them. But I decided to go forward with these four and ask for help from you to add to the list.
So with little words and loads of respect, I present my list of tribute songs to kick off this weeks playlist...

"Reflections" from the Charlie Daniels Band comes to mind.
Also that song about the levee.
Actually the first couple of songs, that comes to my mind are danish tribute-songs for Lennon:
Kim Larsen (1981)
Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (1993)
ASIA - I never, ever was a fan of Asia. I remember this song, but I don't know from where. It's not bad, but this laid back foreigner-style was never ever MY style of music, but this song is okay, and the guitar-solo is off course fine work.
DIRE STRAITS - Another laid back-band, I never was a fan off. I bought a couple of records, yes records, but it was just because of his guitar-work, which also gets boring after a little while. It's an okay song, but......
QUEEN - The very best song on this dreadful album. This is actually a very nice track, but still not as good, as anything from "The Game". But it's a typical Mercury-song. He was a genius!! But the album Hot Shit was crap!!
THE EAGLES - Oh no. The KINGS of laid back music, and I mean that in the worst possible way!! Goddamn, this is BORING!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!
But I still enjoy Hidden Treassures, Scott :-)
That Asia song is so damn catchy. First time I heard it, I was caught. It sticks in your head for days and days. Then, when you think it's gone, you listen to it again and it's stuck in your head again! How amazing is that??!!
This is my second favorite Dire Straits album, one I can listen to over and over again. But, I can listen to "Making Movies" more over and over again. But this is still fine stuff. Since MM wouldn't have fit in to this playlist, I will accept this song, even though "accept" might be the wrong word.
Ah, yes. "Hot Space". Either you love it or you hate it. Guess what? I love this album! Don't care that the first side has a lot of disco/dance, I JUST DON'T CARE!!!!
This Eagles song kind of bored me when it first came out, but now I think it's ok. I like The Eagles better when they rawk, but I guess you don't always get what you want.
Nice list.
Listened to this yesterday, just don't have time to write my thoughts right now. Will do so later.
Let's see, I own two of the four actual albums, but I'm pretty sure I have a different album that has The Eagles' song on it. I've almost picked up the Dire Straits album a couple of times. I think it's pretty cheap on Amazon, maybe $4.99.
I remember that I like the first few songs on Hot Space, but I don't really remember this song at all. The Asia song sounds terrific. That great sounding vocal as always. I even like the Dire Straits song. But I can honestly say that I don't care for that Eagles tune at all. Just never have. And you guys know I'm a pretty big Eagles fan.
I think my favorite tribute song would be Empty Garden by Elton John, though I'm sure there are others that I just can't think of...Song And Emotion by Tesla (for Steve Clark), From The Inside by Def Leppard (for Steve Clark) & Hells Bells by AC/DC (for Bon Scott) for starters.
Enjoyed the listen Scott.
