Great album.
First heard it back home when my friend made me a copy on a blank tape.
Few years later I found it on a CD, second hand, which I just recently got a chance to listen to. My take away was similar to yours.
Love his singing and energy.

Another great album I have with him is Jerusalem Slim. The band consisted of Steve Stevens as well. I remember seeing the Demo's (on CD) for that album advertised by MM himself and bought it. It blew me away. Now I like the Demos better than the studio album of Jerusalem Slim.
