Just so you know, I'm typing this while sitting the same way as the guy pictured above. And it's tougher than it looks!
For some reason, back on 6/8/05, I purchased this album from The Zoo on Amazon (nice of them to let me know when I bought it, shame of them not knowing WHY I bought it). I must have been on a BIlly Thorpe kick or maybe heard a song on the radio and just had to have this album. No matter the reason, I gots it and now you have the oppurtunity to give it a listen. Whoo hoo!
I suppose this is kind of a supergroup, consisting of Mick Fleetwood, Billy Thorpe, Bekka Bramlett and others. Released in 1992, one of the songs got some airplay, but I don't remember which one but "Shakin' The Cage" sounds familiar and I do recall how I dug the song (whatever it was) since it was more harder-edged than the recent Fleetwood Mac output way back then.
If you like blues rock, you'll like this album. If you like Billy Thorpe, you'll like this album. If you like Mick Fleetwood, you'll like this album. If you've never heard of Bekka Bramlett, you'll like her after listening to this album. (FUN FACT: Bramlett was on Fleetwood Mac's "Time" album released in 1995.)
Oh, yes the name of the album is:
Shakin' The Cage
1. Reach Out*
2. God Created Women*
3. Night Life*
4. Shakin' The Cage*
5. Voodoo*
6. How Does It Feel*
7. The Night And You
8. Takin' It To The People*
9. Breakin' Up*
10. In Your Hands
Availability: OOP but can be found for less than 50 cents. That's right....less than half a buck.
MSoTW is going to be very hard this week. I normally put a song up that was played on the radio at some point, but this week I'm going to tax your brain....
