So Jon and I are touring again for the month of March. And it's all about the ladies. Yep, a month of nothing but female artists or female fronted bands. I'll start it off with a very popular artist, Pat Benatar and her multi-platinum album from 1980, Crimes Of Passion. It hit number 2 in the U.S. and spawned 2 top 20 hits (Treat Me Right #18 and Hit Me With Your Best Shot #9). You better run placed #42 in the U.S. and Hell Is For Children, though never released as an A-side single, still got tons of airplay. All 4 of these songs still get played a lot today.
The album is good and features some very decent guitar playing by Neil Giraldo, whom I believe is married to Pat. There is also a really nice hidden gem in Little Paradise. I had never heard this until I bought this CD recently. It's definitely worth a listen.
You can still get this album quite easily on Amazon.

Had Little Paradise ready to go in a March SHT list... Looks like I'll be revising that one..
Ive been on a bit of a Benatar kick recently. Ive been really getting into Tropico, 7 The Hard Way and Wide Awake In Dreamland. A great triple play if you like that side of Benatar... But she had a more rocking triple threat to open her career, her debut, Passion, and Precious Time are a really strong rock and roll assaults! I prefer Precious Time but thats me, this one did get a ton of airplay! And I know for a fact that Jon mentioned Wuthering Heights at least once this past year. Anyway, all said and done, I am happy to see Benatar get some love on here! Long overdue and well deserved
Nice choice!
There had a Behind The Music on VH1 Classic about a month ago, and everytime I watch I get on a kick about that particular artist. She is just awesome, saw her and Cheap Trick at a casino on the NV/UT border about 8 years ago and she sounded fantastic.
There are no birthdays today
