Classic Rock Bottom

Let this thread be all about books.  What book(s) are you reading, or what book did you buy or are you buying.  You know, a book thread.  Even if it's a book on your wish list, I'm interested in knowing what it is.

I'm gonna buy Arnold's "Total Recall" tomorrow (MAYBE, just maybe, I'm gonna get it signed by Schwarzenegger himself on thursday)

In a couple of weeks I'm gonna buy "Makeup To Breakup", the Peter Criss-book and...

"Who I Am" by Pete Townshend, but I'll wait until november when it is released in danish.

I finished reading the latest Castle TV series tie in novel Frozen Heat. I found it to be pretty good.

I finished reading the Ellen Hart novel Rest For The Wicked yesterday.

Today I picked up the Sue Grafton book V is for Vengeance.

I got a thriller from my sister for Xmas, Hank Phillippi Ryan's The Other Woman.

By the way, I loved this book. Very entertaining. I added the author's fan page to my Facebook likes and got some feedback from her when I commented on how much I enjoyed the book.

Finished Jon Land's thriller Pandora's Temple the other day.

Picked up the Sara Paretsky novel Break Down today.

I picked up two books today:

J.A. Jance - Left For Dead

Claire Hess - Deader Homes and Gardens

I picked up the Iris and Roy Johansen thriller Close Your Eyes today.

I picked up the Pat Summitt book "Sum It Up" and the Peter David novel Height of the Depths - The Hidden Earth Chronicles Book 2.

I love to read, but I'm really picky and get into moods with what I wanna read.  I really wanna find a cheap book about a band I like.  But I like books that delve into the songs and albums, not the sex and drugs.

Just finished reading Townshend's "WHO I AM". It's a good book, but I'm a little dissapointed, that he doesn't tell more "behind the scenes"-WHO-stories. At times, it feels like he wasn't that close to anyone in the band. For example, he doesn't really mention Entwhistle with one word in the chapters from 1982 until Entwhistle dies. THEN he writes about how much he misses him, but it's somebody else who had to point out to Townshend around 1999-2000, that he had to go on tour with The Who, even though he didn't feel like it at all, because Entwhiste and maybe also Daltey were loosing, and not earning money. It also seems, that it's just within the last decade or so, that Townshend and Daltrey really became friends. I had also expected a few funny stories about Moon, because to me it seems like Moon and Townshend were really close, and that they probably were similar "insane", but I was wrong. There ARE a few "funny stories" involving Moon, but Townshend was two different persons, on stage and of stage, while Moon the Loon was the same crazy man whereever he was. Townshend also gives the impression, that it was Daltrey, that was the real leader of The Who, and that surprises me, because I've always seen Townshend as the leader of that band, much more than for examle Page, in Zeppelin. Moon and Entwhislte were close buddies, where Daltrey and Townshend lived "their own lifes" outside the band, and this book deals with Townshend's live, mostly outside The Who. But I still recommend it. One of the things, that also surprised me, was that Townshend used to chase the actor Teresa Russell, but she wouldn't realy have him. I understand him. She was a knock-out.
