Oh...but if he didn't say anything how would we know it was him, lol?
There was still that experimental 60's feel to it, that to me lasted from around 1964 to around 1974.
THAT was the 60's!
No, you misunderstood me, I liked the Richie Havens. I just thought it would have been better as a total instrumental, without the few spoken lines.
I counted and there have been 72,734 albums released by Jimi Hendrix since he died. That's a lot.
I'll give the edge to the first half, but this was good too.
I liked the "new" Hendrix tune. Nice guitar, imagine that. Dr. John didn't really work for me, but Lonesome by Dr. Dog was definitely better. I also didn't really care for that version of Gallow's Pole.
I have a Golden Pell winner for you. It's Nils Lofgren. Another totally cool song. That album currently resides in my Amazon wish list.
And that final song was kind of jazzy. Jon's finally right about something. I could have done without the few spoken lyrics.
Ooooooooooh. This was NICE. That Richie Havens song was really jazzy, man! JAZZY!
I like this show better than the first even though it was mostly new music since there was the notable absnece of a band I shall not name again.
It took a second to figure out that Neil Young song. Zeppelin? Really? Oh, yeah. Got it. Gallows Pole.

Dr Hook John was a good song. And Dr. Lonesome didn't sound like something new, it sounded like something, well, old. There's a lot of retro music stylin's happening. Maybe most artists figure that music today sucks and they don't wanna sound sucky.
Great show!
