Classic Rock Bottom

I decided to start working on my Top 10 Albums for 2010 list today and I was wondering if there is a particular way anyone else is using to complete your list?  Do you write down everything that you have purchased that was released in 2010?  Do you have a great memory and already know what's gonna be on your list?

I started making a list of 2010 albums that I have bought this morning, and I had more than I realized.  I think that last year I had around 30-35 albums from 2009.  This year I have 51.  I didn't realize I had that many.  Out of those 51, there is at least 16 that I haven't listened to more than a song or two.  Eight of those are definitely finalists for me, with probably 4 definites.

How is everybody else going about this chore?

I go after my memory. I think, I have bought around 12-15 cd's this year, and some of them are remastered "old one's" like "Exile on Main Street". I'm planning to buy 2,3 or 4 cd's the next couple of weeks, before I'm going to make a list, but I'm pretty sure, that I MAY have a favorite to the number 1-spot, but who knows?! These days, I'm very carefull, about what to buy, so MOST of the albums, I have bought, I've listened to plenty of times.
That's a great point Niels. Sometimes I think I buy too many, because I can't seem to listen to them all.
I've bought a bunch (probably over 100) this year but quite a few are older titles. For the ones that came out this year, after the first listen I know that it's on the top ten list. Give it a few more spins to see if my mind changes, then go on from there. I keep all CD's purchased during the year in a separate rack, in January I catalogue them and put them with the rest, alphabetically of course.

One album I have featured shot to number 1 but there's something I got in te last couple weeks that's giving it a serious run or the money. I'll be listening to it again the next week or so while going to work and then shuld make my decision. I think I have 5 that are definitely on the list and the rest I'm going to have to mull over.

How friggin' long-winded was that?
I honestly don't think I've bought 10 new releases this year.

Number 1 would be Accept's Blood of the Nations though.

Unless I finally get around to listening and loving Iron Maiden's new one before the end of the year.
